Subject: What were, are, they filled with? |
Bible Note: "The Person of the Holy Spirit does not take possesion of us or control us, do you think?" Actually this is an excellent description of the infilling. The Holy Spirit possesses as we surrender. This is probably the key reason so many tend to resist His infilling. He 'inhabits' us, takes up His abode in us. A 'possession' through 'surrender' and 'invitation'. But He never 'controls' against our will as in demonic possession, but rather gently speaks and unctions. "So my question is again, "Do we receive the baptism (the infilling) or do we receive the Holy Spirit?" You wrote that "it" was something to be received after salvation." 'it' to be infilling not 'it' the Holy Spirit. He is a person. I believe the 'infilling' is something we choose to accept. I believe at salvation the Holy Spirit regenerates or recreates our dead spirit..thus He 'births' us into the Kingdom. But the infilling is Him taking up His abode within us. Does this answer? I may not be communicating well today. God bless God bless |
