Bible Question: Does 1Corinthians chapters 12-14 teach that tongues are ecstatic utterances or real human languages.Does not glossa mean languages or dialects of a certain nation or people? |
Bible Answer: What do you mean by ecstatic? excited or what? I think glossa does mean the languages of the earth. 1 Cor 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. That to me says the languages of men or of the earth, and the language of heaven. (angels) 2 1 Cor 14:21 In the Law it is written, "BY MEN OF STRANGE TONGUES AND BY THE LIPS OF STRANGERS I WILL SPEAK TO THIS PEOPLE, AND EVEN SO THEY WILL NOT LISTEN TO ME," says the Lord. |
