Subject: Does speaking in tongues come naturally? |
Bible Note: cajam: Just to make an interesting point, there is no such word in the Greek New Testamment as Holy "Ghost". The correct translation is Holy Spirt. I am aware of this comes from the KJV, but is is not correctly translated as we use the language today. At first you say "You can receive the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues as the spirit of God gives you utterance. This is not learned." Then at the end you say "...,but no where did God fill any one with the Holy Ghost by them reading the word without someone to instruct them." I am confused is this not a contradiction? The verses you suggest back you position are directly dealing with Salvation not the gifts or tongues or any other gifts. I think it is wise to make sure the portion of Scripture to back our beliefs are not lifted out on context. I am asking this question about tongues because I wonder if no one tried to teach tongues would this "gift" die out without teachers. In the same note I would ask how are other gifts of the Holy Spirit inplanted in a believer? Are other gifts learned as well? Thank you for helping me understand this very complex gifts of the Spirit. justme |
