381 | Us (saved)or chosen people(Jews) | Gal 3:28 | lionheart | 165577
tashyina, Greetings and welcome to the forum. A very good question, one that should be clearly understood. It's clear in the OT that the Isrealites would be the ones that he would reveal Himself to the world through. But we see even before the insception of the Gospel how God said that all nations (Isa.) would be blessed. We see this clarified in Romans and solidified as stated in Galations 3:25,29. There are other passages of scripture throughout Pauls Epistles. This is a dynamic and rich subject that truly addresses who we are in Jesus Christ. In Christ, lionheart |

382 | Are we to expect unity? | Gal 3:28 | lionheart | 169966
WOS, Yes to both questions. The sciptures you refered to state it plainly. When it comes to the body of Christ there is no us and them. Ephesians 4:3-6 is pretty explicite too. I'm with you on this one. In Christ, lionheart |

384 | Assurance of salvation | Eph 1:7 | lionheart | 219164
Mathaytes, Welcome to the forum. My heart goes with you as you reach out to your son. This is a particularly important juncture in your sons life as he stands at the threshold of his teen years. Doc and the others have been dead on in their advice and council to you. Do sit down with your son and study out discipleship with him. What is it to be a disciple. The main thing is get into the Word with him. Let God's Word be your guide and you won't be steered wrong. In Him, lionheart |

385 | ON JOHN 15:18-19 NEED HELP | Eph 2:1 | lionheart | 154331
Dear IN2JESUS, Read Ephesians chapter 2 with attention to vs 1-10.While we may live in this world we are no longer of it.When we became disciples of Jesus Christ we changed citizenship. When refering to the world we oft times refering to the nonbelieving. When Gods people take a stand we will encounter opposition. Jesus told his diciples to expect this.Paul even tells us in 2 Timothy 3:12 that as we seek to live godly lives in Christ Jesus that we will be persecuted. Paul even tells us that to those who are perishing that this all foolishness. So dont be to shocked when people start throwing the junk your way, just remember Colossians 1:27 that it's Christ in you the hope of glory! In Christ, lionheart |

386 | preaching the Gospel? | Eph 2:8 | lionheart | 226811
julcol87, The verses that you have sighted are addressed to those who are already saved they are not addressed as a requirement for salvation. These are things that we as disciples of Jesus Christ are instructed to do and should desire to do. Our salvation is not dependent on anything we do but in response to what God has already done in His Son Jesus Christ. John 3:16 Acts 2:38, Romans 10:9,10 are among scriptures regarding salvation. Read the Gospel of John it's loaded. In Him, lionheart |

387 | preaching the Gospel? | Eph 2:8 | lionheart | 226970
Julia, I don't know that your doing anything wrong. Look at 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:15-17. Spend time in God's Word, make it your own. Read the Gospels and look at Jesus life, He's the greatest role model any of us will ever have. What does God require of you? Read through 1 John. It really goes to the heart of what's troubling you. You are God's child no matter what anyone tells you. Love God and love those he puts in your life. In Him, lionheart |

388 | Who does not quality for grace? | Eph 2:8 | lionheart | 227575

389 | denominations. | Eph 4:3 | lionheart | 148728
Brother, I dont know if I could have stated this any better than you did.I really cant find any justification for denominations.Man constantly mucks things up by putting his own twist on things. It's taken God raising up true men of God to bring people back to the standard of Gods Word.We have ample evidence of this even today. There is one church(I refer to all born again beleivers of Jesus Christ.)We may be spread all over the planet but all one church with a whole bunch of parts. (Eph 4:3-6) One seems to be the common thread here and I think Jesus was quite specific about this as well. In Christ, lionheart |

390 | Who constitutes the church? | Eph 4:3 | lionheart | 206005
immanuelsown, Welcome to the forum. Denominationalism has been an age old debate and remains so today in some circles. There is no one denomination to define the body.(ecclesia) Church when we speak 0of God's church consists of all born again believers in Jesus Christ. You've chosen a good passage of scripture in dealing with this. Perhaps a simple word study on the word one will help to give some more understanding for you. Take a good look at 1 Corinthians 12 where Paul talks about the church. (Many members but one body.) In Him, lionheart |

391 | How can any man teach or preach or write | Eph 4:11 | lionheart | 168602
mother and child, Chapter and verse please,Read 2 Peter 1:20,21 and 2 Timothy 2:15 and then come back and tell how you arrived at the conclusion you just stated. How do you get this out of John 10:8? Jesus does not refer to his second comming here. Your statement here is out of place and out of context. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; Read verse 17 also, Gods Word is teachable. He wants us to preach it and teach it. What was Jesus telling the disciples in Matt 28:18-20? What happened On Pentecost in Acts chapter 2? Please believe me,I'm not picking on you here. As diciples of Jesus Christ we have been given something very special and very preciouse. Paul tells us in Corinthians that we are ambassadors for Christ. We carry hope for a lost and dying world. We can teach it,we are commanded to teach it,we must teach it. It is incumbent on us to let God's Word speak for itself and keep our flesh out of it. Dear heart we have the most awesome and great privilege of beeing able to share Gods Word and help lead people to Christ. God did not send us out with somrthing that was closed or sealed, but with something (His Word)open for all to see and hear. In Christ, lionheart |

392 | But is that relevant for today time sinc | Eph 4:11 | lionheart | 194455
Hood Rat, There has always been allot of confusion and speculation over prophecy and it's relevancy for today. Go back and get into Judges. It tells us right off the bat of a generation that had been born and knew not God or his teachings. We read how God raised up individuals during that time in there history. These individuals were operating on already established principle. But it was new to that generation. So it is today. We have God's Word, well established and true, but new to those who haven't heard. Prophecy is not just foretelling but also forth telling. Old light but new to those who haven't heard. In Him, lionheart |
||||||
393 | So in essence what you are saying is tha | Eph 4:11 | lionheart | 194473
Hood Rat, Nope, not at all. Check out Judges 2:10. What I said is that it's new for those who have never heard. Who don't know. You won't know if you haven't heard. This is some thing we deal with in all generations. So as the Word is preached ( forth tell) it's old light but new those who have yet to hear. Once you've heard the Word it's no longer new (unknown) to you. You may not fully understand at the time but now it's not unknown any longer. There will be those who will reject the Gospel but when the time comes they will be without excuse. In Him, lionheart |

mikegold, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Our forgiving others is not dependent on a persons repentance,we forgive because God has forgiven us.It's what God has commanded us to do.Jesus tells us that if we dont forgive that God will not forgive us. In Christ, lionheart |

396 | Raising Godly Children | Eph 5:22 | lionheart | 174701
magellan, I am quite relateable to your situation, being divorced and a single father of two boy's.My x and I are both disciples of Jesus Christ today, I regrete that we were not when we were married, but that relieves either one of us of being parents cause parents we will always be no matter what. I am grateful that the boys mother and I are both born again christians today doing what we can to live our lives for God. So if there had to be a choice made as to who the boys would be with I would have had no worries as to if they would recieve a godly up bringing. Brad and Mark have both given you solid advice in this. It is both of yours responsibilities to raise your children in a Godly manner. If your wife is not up to that, then my brother that responsibility must fall to you. What ever God is calling you to God will provide what ever it takes to get you where he wants you. Philippians 4:19 In Christ, lionheart |

397 | Is anxietyand fear sinful? | Philippians | lionheart | 193293
Tim3:16, Brother, Just read your profile. You and I hold much in common. What scripture did the host use to support his or her supposition. I've been invovled with a CR ministry that my church operates and I Co-lead a ministry that I'm also one of the founders that ministers to those who are who are physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually afflicted. It really chaps my hide when I hear folks make statements like this individual made. I am a firm believer in 2 Timothy 2:15 and I think there is huge application even when we deal with secular issues. My doctor has been treating me for depression for over three years now along with a list of other major health issues. Brother let me assure you before I go any further here that I have no issue with you, if anything knowing what little I know you just from your profile I want to encourage you in any way I can. Now back to the subject at hand. There has been research conducted that have prooved that chemical inbalances within the brain can and do cause or impact physical or mental health issues. That's no bragg it's fact. I and many others deal with these issues every of our lives and God gives us victory every single day. Paul and Peter were well aquainted with weaknees and affliction. (2 Corinthians, 2 Peter) Go through these they will encourage you. Fell free to contact me at any time. In Him, lionheart |

399 | Philippians4:4-9 don't get | Phil 4:13 | lionheart | 163327
Jesus Freak, It's not as complicated as may seem. It's fairly simple. Some times we need to take passeges of scripture and brake things into smaller pieces then it's alittle easier to understand and digest. Paul makes a couple of points here. One is we dont have to be circumstance controled, thats why Paul tells us to be anxious for nothing and then follows it up by telling us to go to God. The big thing Paul does here is to tell us where our hearts ought to be and that our focus should be on the things of God vice the things of this world. When our focus is on the things of God then we dont get overwhelmed by whats going on around us.Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |
