361 | Love | 1 Cor 13:4 | lionheart | 161583
Goodmorning Brother, The greek word here for proud is Physioo- To puff up,inflate,to be proud. In this context Paul is telling us love is'nt a self focused thing. He tells us what love is not.Paul goes on at the end of the chapter that love is the greatest. There is no sin in lifting someone up as long as the focus remains on God. We see in the Old Testament where God says that David was a man after his own heart. In he Gospels he tells the disciples regarding Jesus- This is my Son in whom I am well pleased. 1 John chapter 4 is an outstanding scripture on the true heart of love. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

362 | Is it lawful for women to be preachers? | 1 Cor 14:34 | lionheart | 163703
Jacquelinet, 1 Timothy 2:12- But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man,but to remain silent. A lot of people have used this passage of scripture to denigrate and mininimise the role of women in the church. This is to thier shame.I know a number of sisters in my church that serve major roles in the day to day, week to week functioning of the fellowship(church). One example- The lead Evangelists wife heads up the womens ministry. This is only a single example of the major contributions made by women in the church.Paul is very specific in Titus And 1 Timothy the qualifications and standards for those called to be overseers or church leaders. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

363 | the serpent | 1 Cor 14:35 | lionheart | 167322
guided_spirit, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Verse 15 here is vital for us in our understanding of God and his plan for our salvation. Here we see the first messianic prophecy. One word in this passage sets the whole thing up. Thats the word seed, one simple little word and satans fate is seeled. A little 4 letter word and the old bird is done. Notice when the the word seed is used, your seed, her seed. If we know anything about biology then we know that it's the male that has the seed. The female has no seed, yet here we see clearly that it says HER SEED. So we ask ourselves where did it come from? Hmmm? So simple yet so powerful and dynamic. Right here and we are barely 3 chapters into and we have Gods answer to the whole thing.(Jesus.) I love it,so simple yet so final. Keep reading my friend there's more to come. You'll be thrilled, you'll be chilled, inspired ect.ect ect. As we search through Gods Word we can not help but be inspired and encouraged. In Christ, lionheart |

364 | new body | 1 Cor 15:51 | lionheart | 148096
Towanda greetings, The resuurrection is all part of Gods miraculous plan for us and our salvation. When Jesus comes back for His church a number of things will happen and they will happen quickly. (1Cor15:51-54) paints the perfect picture of what takes place when God gets us up.That old body wont be old anymore. It'll be a new one.Check this out ( 1Jn 3:2,3) tells us that what we will be has not yet been made known, when Jesus does come back it says we will be like him and that we shall see him as he is. Pretty incredible stuff wouldnt you say. In Christ, lionheart |

mamasonthree, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I'm not sure about weaker and wiser but Paul makes a good case on how God works so powerfully in our weaknesses. 2Corinthians 12:7-10. In Christ, lionheart |

366 | Homosexual debate at school help please | 2 Cor 4:4 | lionheart | 168391
the shadow provs the sunshine, Greetings and welcome to the forum. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us all scripture is God breathed. 2 Peter 1:20,21 men may have wrote it but God is the author. Every book from Genesis to Revelation is inspired of God and is equally accurate and true. People and times may change but Gods Word doesnt.Start at Leviticus 18:22. There are a number of New Testament passages that are equally valid. Romans Chapter one. 1 Corinthians 6:9. The thing to remember is that Gods Word never changes. You will get different arguements, but any response you give must be rooted and grounded in Gods Word. There have been a number of good responses to your question. Above all, however you respond do it out of love.(Agape) Love the person but in no way compromise godly principle. In Christ, lionheart |

367 | dear friend | 2 Cor 5:20 | lionheart | 161424
devon, Greetings an God's best to you this day.In the strictest sence of biblical definition there in literal sence no Apostles in this present day. 2 Corinthians 5:20 does say that we are ambassadors for Christ. The verses you have refered to here are also good references to Gods calling peoples lives. Matt 28:18-20 we are all evangelists in the literal sense. Titus, and 1Timothy 3 provide good reference for those who feel God calling them into full time survice. But in a sense though we are all full time servants. God has given all of gifts, talents and resources by which we may serve and glorify God. We just need that we walk daily with a humble heart allowing God to lead us so that we may utilise those gifts and talents that God blesses us with. In Christ, lionheart |

368 | Was Jesus sinless? Did He ever sin? | 2 Cor 5:21 | lionheart | 147685
2 Corinthians 5:21 says He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in him. Pretty self explanitory. I'm not being sarcastic or mean spirited here. Thats not my heart or intention. Jesus was sinless and took our sin upon himself. This is a discussion that comes up quite frequently. There are a lot of what if's would haves or could haves that come up durring these types of discissions. It is incumbent on people to get into the bible and do their homework.(2 Timothy 2:15) do this the answers are there. Read Hebrews it will give you an outstanding picture of the person and ministry of Jesus Christ. In Christ, lionheart |

369 | Didn't Jesus just become sinless? | 2 Cor 5:21 | lionheart | 147687
Nyet,no,absolutly not.The greek word ginosko (know) is used in 2 corinthians 5:21.When Jesus went to the cross he had no sin. Sin came as he took our sin upon Himself.Read OT guidlines regarding sin offerings. The common thread through all of the guidlines was that the sacrifice had to be spotless and without blemish.Jesus Christ fullfilled that requirement. If Jesus had any sin prior to his crucifixtion then he could not have legaly been the substitutional sacrifice for our sins. In Christ, lionheart |

370 | In love with evil woman. | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 140504
Brother my heart goes out to you. I've been where your at now.I'm relatable to what you must be going through.I can tell you this though Right now there is nothing profitable in this for anyone. It's hard but you gotta let go of this one.(2Cor6:14-18) Pray alot and gaurd your heart. (Phil4:6,7) God will give you the best but you gotta put him first. (Mtt6:33) God only intends the best for his people (Ro8:28,Jer29:11-14.)Get in there with the brothers and get lots of advice.(Pr11:14, 13:10,15:22,24:6)The most loving thing you can do for her now is to give her over to God and let God do what he needs to do.Get this person with sisters who are strong in the Lord and let them work with her. Stand down and see what God will do. My brother I'm in your corner and will lifting you to God. If there is any way I can be of help or encouragement please let me know. Maybe we can find another way to make contact and we can talk and pray together. In Christ lionheart |

371 | Is Extreme Metal appropriate? | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 144549
2 Corinthians 6:14- Do not be bound together with unbelievers, for what partnership have righteousness with lawlessness,or what fellowship has light with darkness? Read this verse and the 2 following it.The question I would have for you at this point would be why you would even want to identify with something that is so blatantly opposed to who God is and what God stands for. Paul tells us all things are permissable but not all things are beneficial. Jesus said that it's not what goes into a man that makes him unclean but what comes out of the man that makes him unclean.I'll tell you this though, what you put in is gonna impact what comes out.So I will leave you with this, what do you want comming out of you? Think about it. In Christ, Lionheart |

372 | Extreme Metal... clarifying | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 144681
You asked a question and you asked people to give critical answers. You got em. I will stand by any mans right to express themselves.I wont condemn the sound,I have a wide range of musical interests myself, good music is good music no matter what the style. But I will call to task what comes out of a mans mouth. There is enough good music out there to listen to without giving creedence to those who would degrade it by what comes out of there mouth, and if you think lyrics dont have impact think again. No dis on you Josh because there is probably music I listen to that individuals would be just as critical of. lionheart |

373 | Is it okay to date a nonbeliever? | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 168169
dickesonan, Greetings and welcome to the forum. The bible is very specific when it comes to his people and relationships. God encourages us to have friendships inside and outside the kingdom. Many great opportunities for wittness and outreach can result from friendships that we develope. But when it comes to things like dating relationships God is adament that we not enter into them with non christians. God was specific about the Isrealites not intermarrying with the local inhabitents. He new for them to do so would endanger thier relationship with him. You see God is thinking of us and He's thinking of those he puts in our life. Be a friend to this boy, encourage him.Has anyone shared thier faith with him.If he's open to the Word then there can be consideration at a future time. But if he's not open then you have to be firm about things. Christians and non christians dating cant be a consideration. Enjoy the life God has given you right now.Cherish the friendships you are going to make.Put God first.Matt 6:33. God will not forget us you can count on that. Let not your heart be troubled. In Christ, lionheart |

Mabudachi, Greetings and welcome to the forum. This verse while it carries application to whom we marry I believe it also carries much godly council when it comes to alliences and friendships we may enter into. The best advice I can give you at this point in time is to not enter anything that will require you to compromise Godly principle. Study through the Old Testament it's Chock full of Gods heart and commandments regarding whom his people should and should not allie themselves with. Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

375 | ... | 2 Cor 11:2 | lionheart | 208331
yearegods, Welcome to the forum. In 2 Corinthians 11:2 the word for jealous is the Greek word zelos-- Ardent concern, zeal, enthusiasm. Now look at Acts 7:9 and 17:5 the word jealous here is the Greek word zelloo- envious,to experience morally corrupt zealous ill will. With cases like this there can be multiple usages for a single word. Usage and context are vitally important to any study of God's Word. Look at these passages of scripture and you'll get an idea of what I'm saying here. In Him, lionheart |

377 | Was Lucifer in charge of music in heaven | 2 Cor 11:14 | lionheart | 140670
Interesting question.I didnt find anything to that affect. I will need to do further research. 2 Corinthians 11:14 Paul makes reference to Satan as masquerarading as an angel of light. This could be an indicator of his position before he was cast out. Iam not onehundred percent sure on the last part though. Maybe you or others could shed some light on this for me. In Christ lionheart. |

378 | forgiveness | 2 Cor 13:5 | lionheart | 189303
NightJay0044, I am with you brother. It hurts allot when one we love sins against us. First of all I want to clarify one very important thing here. To forgive does not mean to forget. You will remember but will you choose to look beyond the sin and see her as God see's her. Love the person and hate the sin. If we cant do that then we need to go back and check our own heart. That's why Paul tells us to examin ourselves. (2 Corinthians 13:5)Jesus even tells us that if we don't forgive others then God will not forgive. Think about 2 Timothy 3:12. People will sin against us, we will face Persecution. It's a given that we're gonna get hurt. The bible says we will. It's what we do with them that is vital to our walk with God. These are a few things to look at when it comes to forgiving others. Remember that God has forgiven you and as a disciple of Jesus Christ we can do no less. In Him, lionheart |

Bandiad, God day to you. Take a good look at Galatians 5. The issue you mention here isn't a one or the other thing, it's a sin issue. Take a good look at Galations 5, it explains allot. In Him, lionheart |

380 | Arguing Among Apostles?? | Gal 2:11 | lionheart | 224583
Inquisitor, Good day to yah. Receiving revelation from God doesn't guarantee that anyone isn't gonna sin. In Peter's case his sin was quite public and it had to have major impact on those who were new disciples Jew and Gentile. So it was important that the record be set straight publicly. This was important for everyone as well as Peter himself. In Him, lionheart |
