That can be a hard question to answer. Are you new in the faith and if you have been a christian for some time Where do you see your walk with God at this point in time? The best thing I can tell you at this time is spend time in Gods Word every day, be specific in your prayers(you cant spend to much time in prayer.) Phil 4:6. Isa 59:1 Phil4:19 God will hear your prayer and be assured he will answer. Build Godly relationships within the body. But most of all keep God first in your life.Mtt6:33 As you do these things God will show you where your strengths and talents lie, even your weaknesses. He will use these things to direct you and show you where he wants you. Read Eph3:20 God will do this for you bigtime. In Christ lionheart |

402 | Celebrate Recovery | Col 1:9 | lionheart | 192466
strts5, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I'm an alcoholic, addict with 17 years clean and sober come this October. Clean does not equal sober. We can be clean and still not sober. To truly get the sober part on straight takes a relationship with Jesus Christ and even then it takes much trust and faith in God. Recovery is an everyday thing, repentance is an everyday thing. God has brought me to the realization that I'm gonna be in recovery for the rest of my life. That's not so bad though. It does mean that my everyday walk with God is of the utmost importance. Take 1 John 1:9 to heart. We all blow it everyday but we can repent, we can change. God says we can. Philippians 4:13,19 always my friend. In Him, lionheart |

403 | easter egg hunt in sanctuary | Col 3:1 | lionheart | 201504
windsongcloe, Welcome to the forum. I could get all legalistic and hard line about this but where is the prophit? Now my question for you is this, How did this impact your faith. Read Romans chapter 14. Easter is the day we remember Christs sacrifice and resurrection. We aught be doing this daily anyway. I think the biggest question is where our hearts and focus are at. Does this cause you to compromise Godly principle? Have you voiced your concernes to your Pastor and within the fellowship? Hope this helps. In Him, lionheart |

406 | Living | Col 3:17 | lionheart | 161063
NightJay0044, I think that we tend to get nitpicky about what other people do,but especially with ourselves. We tend to get ourselves tied in knots when we try to micromanage everything we do. The one thing we might consider as we do whatever it is that we are doing is where is our heart at,where is our attitude? Colossians 3:17 does a good job of addressing this and will make our daily day to day walk much simpler. In Christ, lionheart |

408 | Do we sleep or do we immediately go to h | 1 Thess 4:16 | lionheart | 197639
keke, Good day to you. Read this verse in context with 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. When we die what we are, that which God gave us goes back to him. When Jesus comes back he will come for those (believers) who are still alive at the time as well as those who have died. It may not make sense to us, but it's God's plan and thier isn't a better one. One of main things we gotta understand through all of this is that God is soverign. As Romans 8:28 says all things work for the good of those who love God. So love God and get ready for the most incredible ride you will ever have. It's gonna be a Doosi. In Him, lionheart |

410 | Which saints will be left behind? | 1 Thess 4:17 | lionheart | 188569
M.Royal, 1 Thessalonians 4:17 doesn't necessarily infer that any believer gets left behind. What I do see here is the order that they will be taken up The dead in Christ first then the remaining saints. This is a simultaneous occurrence. In reference to Revelation 14:1 and 15:1,2. Could these not refer to those who are saved during the tribulation? Jew and gentile alike. Not everyone left behind will take the mark. In Him, lionheart |

411 | Bible references for prayers | 1 Thess 5:17 | lionheart | 194916
Endie, Welcome to the forum. There have always been allot of questions on what to and how to pray. These days 1 Thessalonians 5:17 comes to mind quite a bit. Paul tells us to pray without ceasing. This seems like a pretty tall order. Not as tall as it may seem though. The Gospels tell us of how Jesus would go out to pray. We see in Psalms how David prayed and where. Do we pray in the morning when we get up, how about before we go to bed? How about when we are out and about. Or how about those nights when we can't sleep. Luke 18:1 tells us how Jesus taught the disciples to pray so that they would not lose heart. Read Luke chapter 11 it offers a good example of how we can structure our prayers. I don't know how much this will help but it's definitely been a source of comfort and encouragement over the years. In Him, lionheart |

412 | coed sleepovers | 1 Thess 5:22 | lionheart | 153037
conn88h, Greetings and welcome to the forum. This seems to have been somewhat of a topic over the last week or so.My friend take it from a brother who made these mistakes in his younger days.Dont get me wrong anyone of any age can get lured into this kind of a situation. Knowone is immune to this kind of thing. It's just not worth it to put ones self in harms way.Once we compromise this part of our life we can never go back.Thank God for his grace though,we can start over again,God wipes the slate clean when we repent and come to Him with a humble heart. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 is quite apropo here. Wouldnt it be simpler (not easier) to trust God and abide by his Word. We gotta believe God has our best interest at heart.Romans 8:28,29 Jerimiah 29:11. Not a bad deal wouldnt ya say. So the now we gotta ask ourselves is what are we his sons and daughters going to settle for? Do we make Gods Word the standard by which we live or will we take the easy way out? In Christ, lionheart |

justme, Greetings and God's best to you this day. Cultures no matter where we may be are always subject to change no matter what part of the planet we may come from or where we live. God and his Word are the same today as they were 2,000 years ago. We are the fickle ones.Without a relationship with Jesus Christ it's all pretty questionable. Mans problems and issues are no different today. We have a sin problem and we gotta get right with God In Christ, lionheart |

Have you ever voiced your concerns to the individual, has anyone else approached this individual with these concerns? 1 Timothy 3:1-10 sets forth very clear guide lines for those who are to be considered for church leadership. They should be followed. If this person does not meet these guide lines then he should not be given consideration for this position. We cant go wrong by standing by Gods Word. In Christ, lionheart |

417 | Bible says Jesus is God (Trinity) | 1 Tim 4:16 | lionheart | 147427
Greetings PJC, 1 Timothy 4:16 tells us to watch our life and doctrine closely.Everything we base our belief on is based on Gods inspired Word,it's not about personal opinion or denominational doctrine. In Jhn 10:30 Jesus states plainly I and the father are one.The Greek word here is heis-single. Have this person read the following verses,Titus 2:13,Heb 1:3 and Col 1:15-17. The bible is pretty explicite here about what you are telling this person. It's up to this individual change his or her mind. They cant change Gods Word to fit their theology, their theology must line up with the bible. Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

418 | How bible instruct leaders or individual | 2 Tim 2:15 | lionheart | 152907
Dear Phyllis, The question you pose is one often brought up where discipleship is concerned. It's important to understand that discipleship is about relationships and not one person having authority over another.Jesus provided us with the perfect example of relationship building. Part of this starts with 2 Timothy 2:15 being workmen of Gods Word.Hebrews 3:12,13 intstructs us to encourage each other on a daily basis.Getting godly counsil is vital Prov 11:14,12:15,13:10,15:22. None this means a thing if we dont have hearts that are willing to be taught. I had someone ask me once, are you teachable or unreachable? More food for thought. Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |
