Bible Question: Someone please help me. Our church is coming upon its annual meeting where we will be electing new leaders. A man was placed on the nominating committee who is prone to "blow up" in anger from time to time. His outbursts are usually long and heated. Doesn't the Bible caution us against angry men? I have expressed my concern to an elder and he said the man would not be allowed to be put on the ballot but now I see he is. As of now, we do not have a pastor. This particular "angry man" was one of the vocal persons who verbally attacked our pastor when he was with us. Should I be concerned here? |
Bible Answer: Have you ever voiced your concerns to the individual, has anyone else approached this individual with these concerns? 1 Timothy 3:1-10 sets forth very clear guide lines for those who are to be considered for church leadership. They should be followed. If this person does not meet these guide lines then he should not be given consideration for this position. We cant go wrong by standing by Gods Word. In Christ, lionheart |
