241 | Questions on the goodness of man | Rom 7:18 | Mommapbs | 154080
I'd like to revisit this verse. (imo)Paul is qualifying the residence of goodness in the believer here. But, is there anything "good" in unregenerate man? Since man is made in the image of God, does this make him "good"? Is unregenerate man's dead spirit "good"? Please provide scripture to support your answers. |

242 | Scriptural Support Requested! | Rom 8:14 | Mommapbs | 50161
Greetings Forum Participants: A recent post stated, " Nobody can prove being controlled by the Holy Spirit. But we have the written word to help mold us an shape us into a form which God will accept us." Is there Scriptural support for the assumptions in this post? Are these statements contrary to Scripture? So I would ask: 1. CAN we know if one is controlled by the Holy Spirit? 2. Does God's Word help mold and shape us into a form that is acceptable to God? The use of words is very important but Scripture is even more so! Please provide references for either one or both. Thanks for your help. Mommapbs |

243 | God working for our good | Rom 8:28 | Mommapbs | 198812
How does God use Satan to work everything together for good? I'm wondering if this verse relates? "Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme." 1 Tim 1:20 |

244 | More Righteousness? | Rom 8:34 | Mommapbs | 54253
Joe - When God imputs the righteousness of Christ to a believer, does he/she need more? HOW does one become MORE righteous? Please explain this. Thanks - Blessings, Mommapbs
245 | Which are you? | Rom 9:21 | Mommapbs | 61635
Greetings Forum members! After reading this verse on the subject of God's sovereignty may I propose a different perspective? A vessel is a receptacle. Some hold food and drink, others hold the remains of the former. God indeed is the potter and we are the clay; are not BOTH are useful? Consider: which pot are you? And . . .laugh a little, I do think God has a sense of humor! Blessings, Mommapbs |

246 | Jesus' Deity? | Rom 10:9 | Mommapbs | 178527
Can one believe that Jesus was raised from the dead and yet refuse to believe in His deity? The word for Lord here troubles me a bit - not being a greek scholar how does kurios (from kuros authority; lord, master) translate to the Godhead? |

247 | Word of Christ? | Rom 10:17 | Mommapbs | 151098
Can we say that the word of Christ enables us to hear and hearing enables our faith? (The word of Christ demands a response? 1 Peter 4:5,6; Romans 14:12) What then is the "word of Christ"? Might it be that Jesus is God? (John 1:1-2;14) I'm also considering these references: Mt 4:4; Heb 1:2; Mt 7:24; and Col 3:16. Any input would be appreciated. |

248 | Jesus Christ is whose idol? | Rom 10:17 | Mommapbs | 151442
fborn posts: "it's OK to call Christ God but he is not the Lord God,a lot of folk have pretty much excluded God the Father from his own program. We must be aware of making Christ an Idol without even realizing it. So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Besides the Lord God there is no Savior. Christ said to God I have finished the work you gave me to do and on the cross Jesus said in to thy hands I commit my Spirit. Christ said that he was speaking God the Father's doctrine." Mommapbs posts: I understand how a JW (there is no God but Jehovah and we are all sons of God) or a Muslim (there is no god but Allah and Muhammed is his prophet) could make Jesus an idol . . . I can also understand how one could possibly make the written book we call the Bible an idol, but How can a Christ follower make Jesus Christ an idol? Jesus Christ is both Lord and Savior (2 Peter 3:18). My original question did not presuppose that Jesus is not God. Jesus is God - Jesus and Jehovah are One. fborn, do you agree or disagree with the statements above? Yes or no will be sufficient. Jude 1:4 |

249 | Saving graces? | 1 Cor 2:14 | Mommapbs | 60820
Greetings John! In advance, please forgive my theological ignorance but I have never heard the term "saving graces" before! Could you please show me where you get this Scripturally. "God employs prayers and preaching as the means by which He saves." "Conversion is is accomplished when God bestows upon us the saving graces of repentance and faith." Thanks! Blessings, Mommapbs PS: Whitfield's quote, " And who that attends, especially with reverence and care, can tell but he may be found of that happy number?" Why are reverence and care required? Are these part of what God gives the "elect" that enables them to believe? |

250 | What is your favorite Bible version? Why | 1 Cor 3:22 | Mommapbs | 141018
Re-post of Kalos' question for other Forum members to share their responses! What is your favorite Bible version? Why is it your favorite? This question has not been asked in the past 12 months. A Happy New Year to all! Grace to you, Kalos |

251 | Physical death in the flesh? | 1 Cor 5:8 | Mommapbs | 37986
Greetings Lovefountain: Continuing our dialogue . . . "My thoughts are that physical death is the putting off of the flesh body." Are you suggesting that this can be accomplished while we are still "in the flesh?" Blessings on your day! Mommapbs |

252 | How do we "glorify God" in our body? | 1 Cor 6:20 | Mommapbs | 112766
Once we have settled the "ownership" issue, how do we "glorify God" in our body?
253 | What does "because of the angels" mean ? | 1 Cor 11:10 | Mommapbs | 96760
What does "because of the angels" mean in reference to the "symbol of authority?" I don't see where the AMP is going either . . . who is she not to displease? Could "because of the angels" be referring to this? "The cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings and facing one another; the faces of the cherubim are to be turned toward the mercy seat." Ex. 25:20 or perhaps this: "Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had two touching another being, and two covering their bodies." Ez. 1:11 Both seem to be expressions of reverence. Is this perhaps the point? |

254 | The unproductive vine? | 1 Cor 11:30 | Mommapbs | 120375
What is the reason or explanation that Paul is speaking of in this verse? Might this reference the "unproductive vine" in John 15:2?
255 | Why would we be undone? | 1 Cor 11:30 | Mommapbs | 120386
Rowdy - What has the believer to fear on Judgment Day?
256 | "Am I truly in God's family?" | 1 Cor 11:30 | Mommapbs | 120398
Rowdy, you've asked: "Am I truly in God's family?" and "Are there any on-going sins in my life for which I have failed to repent?" My counsel to you would be to "doubt your doubts" and seriously re-consider what you have presented here. The believer has nothing to fear - for perfect love cast out fear. Re-visit 1 John 5 - We know that we are children of God because He gives us His Spirit to assure us! Romans 8:16 How does lack of repentence from sin in the life of a believer disqualify him from the inheritance that he has been promised by God in Christ? May God confirm His love for you! mommapbs |

257 | Do our works keep us saved? | 1 Cor 12:13 | Mommapbs | 120647

258 | Sin and the believer? | 1 Cor 12:13 | Mommapbs | 120688
WTB - so are you saying that the believer who willfully sins must repent of that sin or he is no longer saved? Are you saying tha if we don't confess our sin we are not forgiven of that sin?

260 | The cross of Christ? | 2 Cor 4:10 | Mommapbs | 147751
How does "carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus" manifest His life in the believer? (Is the cross of Christ given appropriate attention after one's conversion? see also 1 Cor 1:18 Comments?)
