243 | Who is the beloved? | Song 2:7 | Mommapbs | 75232
Searcher56: Are you perhaps approaching this passage from too literal of a perspective by limiting it to a discouse between a Lover and the beloved? Do you believe that this book is only for married couples? It is God's Word and "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousnessis" 2 Tim 3:16 It seems to me that any believer should expect to receive edification from ALL of God's Word. When I read this book, I see the love of Christ expressed for His beloved, but is the beloved Israel or the Church or both? Comments? |

244 | What is the meaning of this verse? | Song 2:7 | Mommapbs | 75214
Greetings Forum members! I am having a difficult time understanding this passage. This verse is repeated three times in the Song of Solomon (see 3:5 and 8:4), so I figure it must be important! :) According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word 'adjure' means "to command solemnly under or as if under oath or penalty of a curse (or) to urge or advise earnestly." My questions are: 1. Who are the "daughters of Jerusalem?" Is this Israel? 2. How does word usage influence the meaning of this verse? Consider how the word "pleases" is used: don't arouse my love until it has the capacity to please or don't arouse my love until it wants to be pleased.) 3. Is "my love" referencing an a separate individual or is it the emotion, belonging to the speaker? ("she" NASB vs "it" in the AMP) 4. What is the meaning of this command? 5. Any insights into how this verse might be applied to us as believers? Thanks to all who are willing to tackle these! mommapbs |

247 | What is the leaven? | Matt 16:6 | Mommapbs | 73328
What exactly IS the yeast of the Parisees? Jesus was vehement in His warning about it yet do we recognize it in our midst today? What are some signs that a little leaven has (spoiled) the dough? 1 Cor 5:6; Gal 5:9.
248 | Service to others - service to God? | Matt 20:28 | Mommapbs | 73140
WHO was Jesus serving? Some Scriptures come to mind: Choose this day WHO you will serve (Josh 24:15). . . You cannot serve God and mammon (Mt 6:24). . . I have come to do your will, Oh God. (Heb 10:7-10) Is service to others the same as service to God? When is it different? Is it important for believers to be aware of this? |

253 | Accountability ? | Mal 2:7 | Mommapbs | 70589
What is the significance of this verse to us as individuals as members of a local Church? (Does this call for accountability - of whom, by whom?) Thanks for thinking with me on this! mommapbs |

254 | Who is the intercessor? | John 2:4 | Mommapbs | 69394
If Jesus' time to act had not yet come, why did He? How did Mary's request move Him? How can we apply this to our petitions as well? I hope I don't open a can of worms, but who is the real intercessor here? It seems to me that Jesus, intercedes on behalf of His mother's request, asking the Father's permission to act. What troubles me is the notion some folks have that Mary moves the Hand of Jesus, and that she continues to intercede on their behalf. Yet, Hebrews 7:25 declares that JESUS is the only intercessor. Greetings Forum members. I have been accused by rabbi mark of: "instruct(ing) other young Christian's to follow a personal opinion as though it is a biblical doctrine." 257 | Woman's sin worse than man's? | Eph 5:33 | Mommapbs | 65480
“Rabbi” Mark, you wrote: “Even if the man is bad at his authority over the woman the woman still must fear and revere the man. For if the woman took authority, which is expressly forbidden in the Bible, it would be worse than a man who was bad at handling authority”. When is sin not sin? Does God's Word say that any sin (apart from the blasphemey of the Holy Spirit) is greater or "worse" than another? mommapbs |

259 | Temple and No Temple? | Rev 21:22 | Mommapbs | 62211

260 | Which are you? | Rom 9:21 | Mommapbs | 61635
Greetings Forum members! After reading this verse on the subject of God's sovereignty may I propose a different perspective? A vessel is a receptacle. Some hold food and drink, others hold the remains of the former. God indeed is the potter and we are the clay; are not BOTH are useful? Consider: which pot are you? And . . .laugh a little, I do think God has a sense of humor! Blessings, Mommapbs |
