221 | Repeat questions | Jer 7:22 | Mommapbs | 85156
Greetings Radioman - thanks for the Scripture, but I'm interested in what it means for us as believers. Care to take a stab at this? What do you think that God is really talking about here? How might we be like Israel today? How are we not listening or following? What can we compare "sacrifices" to? |

224 | What causes a holier than thou attitude? | James 4:4 | Mommapbs | 84483
Greetings Scribe - I am reminded of the passage, "For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?" 2 Cor 2:15-16. I appreciate your encouragement to walk in the Light and remain devoted to Christ (which will result in holiness as Christ lives through me), However I struggle a bit with the directive you suggest that I "reproove their deeds by my lifestyle." This, in my opinion, may result in a "holier than thou attitude" that some believers exhibit in response to those who do not know Christ (as well as to other believers who do not measure up to their standard of "holy living!") See Ex 34:30 - perhaps when others perceive that we have "been with the Lord," they too respond in fear which is manifest in behaviors that we misinterpret personally. As the Lord said to Samuel when Israel asked for a king, "for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them." 1 Sam 8:7 What might be some causes of a "holier than thou" attitude toward others who are in rebellion? How do we guard against this? mommapbs |

227 | Wrong motives and/or wrong things? | James 4:3 | Mommapbs | 82905
When we ask God for something and we don't get what we want is it because our motives are wrong or do we want the wrong thing? Is wanting the wrong thing the same as having a wrong motive? How does one avoid "wrong motives?" How does one align himself as Jesus did when He said, "Not My will but Thy will be done."? (Luke 22:42) PS:Does anyone know who said: "Disappointment is God's hint that He has something better in mind?" |

229 | Who is the "rich man?" | Is 53:9 | Mommapbs | 79614
Who was the "rich man?" Some might say it was Joseph of Arimathea (Mt 27:57) but might we also consider the "rich man" to be the thief on the cross who chose Christ? "For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;" Romans 10:12 "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace" Eph 1:7 |

231 | Why the change of word choice? | John 21:17 | Mommapbs | 78491
When the risen Lord appeared to Peter, He asked Peter three times if he loved Him (John 21:15-17). Yet, on the third time, why did Jesus change His choice of the word "love" from agapao to phileo? |

Greetings Taleb! Please explain what you mean by cancelling Psalm 148. What exactly is YOUR postion on the "end times"? "THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken." When in HIS-story has this ocurred? 234 | Rejection of the work of God? | Acts 2:38 | Mommapbs | 78237
Greetings, if I read this correctly, the finished work of Christ is is the work of God that we choose to accept or reject. One's faith is dead apart from accepting the "work" of God. According to what you have written can we say that the person who has not accepted the "work of God" is "dead" spiritually? mommapbs |

236 | Isaiah 8 Questions | Is 8:10 | Mommapbs | 77626
This is a QUESTION about speaker and time. In Isaiah 8: 9 Who is speaking here? In the NLT the speaker is Assyria, but to me this does not make sense since God with us is "Immanuel." As I read this passage, it strikes me that Islam claims this (god is with us) as well. Also, verses 16 -18 suggest (to me) that although the Jews were swept away into captivity BC, they remain captive to the blindness that God has allowed to descend upon them still today. Might we see this passage as future tense, rather than history past? Comments? |

239 | Additional questions for Is 6:7 | Is 6:7 | Mommapbs | 76167
Thank you for the reply. How does our need to continue to confess our sins relate to what is happening in Isaiah 6:7? What is your thinking on my second question? What is the difference between (and significance of) one's iniquity and guilt being taken away and one's sin being atoned for and forgiven? mommapbs |

240 | Questions on Isaiah 6:7 | Is 6:7 | Mommapbs | 76130
Was Isaiah's sin removed from him permanently, or was this a type of "limited atonement?" Hebrews 11:1-2 states, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it, men of old gained approval." Is this approval the same as imputed righteousness? Is this taking place in Isaiah 6:7? In the AMP, "your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven." What is the difference between (and significance of) one's iniquity and guilt being taken away and one's sin being atoned for and forgiven? |
