281 | Making the most of the opportunity, how? | Col 4:5 | Mommapbs | 113208
How do we conduct ourselves wisely? What does this entail? Something else to consider in light of this verse: Brian McLaren in, "More Ready Tha You Realize", makes this observation about believers: "God has sent us into the world as ambassadors and agents of God's love, and yet many of us have never arrived at our destination. So in that light, who is lost - them or us?" |

284 | How to exercize the gift of prophecy? | 1 Thess 5:21 | Mommapbs | 22695
For those in this forum who believe that the spiritual gift of prophecy is alive and well in this church age: how should a prophet exercize his/her gift to edifiy the body? For example, when given a vision or a message, how aggressive should the prophet be to reveal it?
285 | Should I resign from the Forum? | 2 Thess 1:3 | Mommapbs | 65677
Greetings Forum members. I have been accused by rabbi mark of: "instruct(ing) other young Christian's to follow a personal opinion as though it is a biblical doctrine." Please review the posting 21647 and read through the thread that has led up to this conclusion by rabbi Mark. I will resign from the Forum if a majority of you deem this to be an accurate assessment of my participation here. Thank you for your input. In Christ, mommpabs |

286 | Who is "they" in 2 Tim 4:3-4 ? | 2 Thess 2:11 | Mommapbs | 100281
Greetings, I had written this as a note a few weeks ago and perhaps now it's time to post it as a question to consider. "For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false," 2 Thess 2:11 Once again this verse has "captured" my attention: Having just read "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown, and after a little web searching it seems to me that there are many "deluding" influences that the Lord may employ in these "last days" to achieve His purposes. The premise that this text espouses (in direct conflict with the Gospel), its secret nature and the enticement of its "power" are indeed strong motivators for many to be influenced to turn away from the Truth. I suspect that there may be a unifying connection (antichrist) between the Priory of Scion, Knights Templar, Free Masonry and the Illuminati, to name a few. . . also, the suggestion that there are many individuals in positions of power and influence around the globe who belong to these organizations is chilling, to say the least! Frankly, it is exciting to me as I see prophecy being fulfilled here: "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths." 2 Tim 4:3-4 I think that we as believers have missed something here because so often we attach this Scripture to those in our midst who do not share OUR doctrinal position! So, I'm wondering, who is "they" in this Scripture? As for believers, stand firm - hold onto the Gospel of Truth, for our Lord is indeed coming and His reward is with Him! 287 | Who are the Believers after the Rapture? | 2 Thess 2:12 | Mommapbs | 43717
Using 2 Thess 2:7-11 as a reference, does this passage support the belief that those who had previously heard the Truth of the Gospel and rejected it, will be blinded or precluded from accepting it after the Rapture of the Church? It has been suggested that only those "left behind" who never heard the Truth of the Gospel will have an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior from sin. What do you think? Please include Scripture references in your answer! |

288 | Left Behind in error w 2 Thess. 2:7-11? | 2 Thess 2:12 | Mommapbs | 43825
It would appear that present day believers have been lulled into complacency, perhaps out of ignorance of the the message of 2 Thess. 2:7-11. How does this fare for the message of the "Left Behind" series? In the first book we see several characters who realize that what they had been told about Jesus was indeed true and they "come to faith." Since they had rejected the Gospel before the Rapture, how can we justify their salvation according to this Scripture? It grieves me to think that those to whom I have witnessed about Jesus Christ will have no opportunity to accept Him after the Rapture! Perhaps this should serve as a wake-up call for those who have, to date, chosen to ignore the Gospel message! And we, as believers, should be charged with telling them that there may be no "second chance" for them after Christ comes for His Bride! We should be pursuing evangelism with great fervor as we see the "Day" approaching . . . calling those we love to believe while it is still called "today!" The only comfort I have is that God is still sovereign and He will have compassion upon whom He choses. Perhaps many we know who miss the Rapture are part of that "elect" group the God will call out of the Great Tribulation! Although we eagerly await His appearing, these are sobering days! 289 | Readers of"Left Behind" series question | 2 Thess 2:12 | Mommapbs | 43899
According to this passage in 2 Thess 2:7-12, the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as Savior is precluded from those (gentiles) who have not responded to the Gospel or rejected Jesus before the Rapture of the Church. Doesn't the "Left Behind" series offer an erroneous hope of a "second chance" to those who remain?

What is the "condemnation incurred by the devil?" that conceit brings? Who does the condemning? |

291 | Is the church is infallible? | 1 Tim 3:15 | Mommapbs | 136712

292 | Church discipline? | 1 Tim 5:22 | Mommapbs | 152419
Although we may not "lay on hands too hastily" do we participate in the sins of others when we do not confront the sin? This passage is about elders and rebuking them - but does this excuse us from confronting sin in church? I'm wondering about church discipline here. |

293 | Can YOU tempt someone else to sin? | 1 Tim 6:4 | Mommapbs | 47014
Greeting tomn! Since you "inadvertantly" sent this to me I would like to respond by asking, can YOU really "tempt" someone else to sin? (See James 1:14 and Matthew 4:1-3) Secondly, I have read some of your posts on the Forum and the words you have chosen do not always have a Christ-like attitude attached to them. Why do you attempt to justify yourself and then ask for forgivness? If you are going to challenge the the beliefs of others who support themselves with God's Word, please remember to correctly use God's Word in the process. In Christ's Love, Mommapbs |

294 | Did God grant Simon repentance Acts 8:24 | 2 Tim 2:25 | Mommapbs | 152152
Can man repent apart from the enabling of God? Please read Acts 8:18-24. Peter gave instruction to Simon, and left the result up to God (v22). By Simon's response (v 24) what can we conclude; did God grant Him repentance?
295 | How will their folly "be obvious to all" | 2 Tim 3:9 | Mommapbs | 133752
Is "their folly" the godlessness that has been described in vv 2-5? "For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these." These men are further described in v 8 as men who "oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith." Are believers just as "blind" to the subtle workings of godlessness within our culture as suggested in vv 6-7? How will their folly "be obvious to all"? |

297 | Are we ready? | 2 Tim 4:2 | Mommapbs | 98138
Why do you suppose Paul exhorts Timothy (and us) to be ready in and out of season? Has "convenience" influenced the Church? If so, what should our response be?
298 | Two questions on this verse | Heb 3:13 | Mommapbs | 153995

299 | The rest of God? | Heb 3:19 | Mommapbs | 154061
