If Jesus' time to act had not yet come, why did He? How did Mary's request move Him? How can we apply this to our petitions as well? I hope I don't open a can of worms, but who is the real intercessor here? It seems to me that Jesus, intercedes on behalf of His mother's request, asking the Father's permission to act. What troubles me is the notion some folks have that Mary moves the Hand of Jesus, and that she continues to intercede on their behalf. Yet, Hebrews 7:25 declares that JESUS is the only intercessor. Greetings Steve: Although many believers feel the same way that you do (ref. III John:7) where did all the gold and silver come from that went into the building of the Tabernacle? According to Exodus 12:35-6, the Israelites plundered the Egyptians when they left. It seems to me that when the Tabernacle was eventually constructed, unless the former slaves of Egypt had been mining for gold in the desert, it was funded by the Gentiles! I will not inherit the kingdom of God. If I followed your line of reasoning (thinking in orderly,rational ways to arrive at conclusions) about Judas, I too would be condemned. How glad I am to be following Jesus! The Key word in 1 Cor 6:9-10 is "unrighteous." The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. I am a sinner saved by Grace. I wear the righteousness of Christ, even though I still sin. I know whom I have believed and I am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him! Kalos, greetings! I guess I'm entering this discussion a little late. I'm struggling a bit about Judas. Is he part of the vine because he was a Jew? If indeed he was cut off, this would make sense to me, but how does this relate to us as Gentiles as "ingrafted branches?" Jesus said, "Apart from me you can do nothing." I have some questions that are prompted from reading your personal profile: Who is Jesus? Where do we find in Scripture that "the Holy Presence, the Shekhina" is feminine? That God is Father and mother? That our "Mothers dwell in Paradise"? Who is Batia? This is a Bible Study Forum. I can't seem to find any reference to this in God's Word. "You believe that God is one. For most of my life I was taught to believe just what you have written here: "The means for the reception of spiritual gifts in the Christian age are not operative today. Gifts, in the first century, were bestowed by means of Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 2; 10), and through the laying on of the apostles1 hands (Acts 8:17, 18; 19:6; ” Tim. 1:6). Since there is no Holy Spirit baptism today (Eph. 4:5; Mt. 28:19, 20), and as there are no living apostles, it is obvious that, so far as biblical evidence is concerned, no spiritual gifts are being given to believers today." But God was not limited by what I had chosen to believe about Him. He had to overtly "knock my socks off" (this got my attention!) several times before I could finally admit that I had been foolish to put up with the traditional teaching of men rather than depending upon the teaching of the Holy Spirit on the matter of spiritual gifts. Because I had refused to believe that God no longer spoke except through His Word, I denied myself the privilege of hearing His voice and allowed doubt to reign. BIG MISTAKE! I am saddened that you have chosen to put God in a box - in reality, you are defining who YOUR God is and not allowing HIM to do the defining for YOU!The spiritual gifts are alive and well today. "You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures."
