161 | Those that live blameless will see Jesus | Matt 28:18 | Mommapbs | 100370
Ken please elaborate with Scripture. Where does God's Word say that "Those that live blameless will see Jesus"? Isn't this a works based salvation? mommapbs |

163 | Adam's rejection not blasphemy? | Mark 3:30 | Mommapbs | 119060
Greetings Norrie - I'd like to jump in here with some questions/observations. Wasn't the ORIGINAL blasphemy Satan's fall? He and the angelic host KNEW God and rejected Him. He alone is the author of evil - the father of lies. Yet Adam's rejection of God's authority was not considered blasphemy - why? mommapbs |

164 | Adam's disobedience? | Mark 3:30 | Mommapbs | 119118
Norrie - what is the difference between Adam's disobedience and Lucifer's rebellion? Could Adam's innocence - he did not know the difference between good and evil before he ate of the tree - explain this? Consider also, what is the difference between the sons of disobedience (Eph 2:2) and the son of perdition? (John 17:12) Perhaps the first group are redeeemable and the latter is not (the sin of blasphemy?) mommapbs |

165 | What are you listening to? | Mark 4:24 | Mommapbs | 114560
Why do you think the Lord warned His disciples to "take care what you listen to"? How do we obey this today? (I don't think that Jesus had rock, reggae or rap in mind here!) Are we evaluating what we "hear" according to the Truth of God's Word, or are we at times deceived by clever yarns spun by worldly weavers? or perhaps even crafty clergy!? (the mantra of the 60's, "tune in, turn on, drop out" as well as the liberal media comes to mind here) There is a result:"For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away ( by force)." v 25 Amp - Is this a picture of the ultimate "dropping out?" Comments and observations are welcomed! |

169 | Is there peace on earth? | Luke 2:14 | Mommapbs | 106537
Is there really any "peace on earth?" So often I hear these words at Christmastime, but how does this verse compare to what Jesus said about His coming in Matthew 10:34 (Luke 12:51),"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." ? How might the world confuse the peace that God offers? Is this peace conditional? ("among men with who He is pleased")I believe there is much to think about in this familiar verse that transcends the "Christmas Story." What are your thoughts? |

170 | With WHOM is God pleased? | Luke 2:14 | Mommapbs | 106566
Another question on this verse! Re: "with whom He is pleased." What is the object of God's pleasure in this verse? As far as I can see there are two possibilities. Is it His "peace?" (meaning Jesus - "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." Luke 3:22) Or is it mankind? Could it be both? |

172 | What is this salvation? | Luke 2:30 | Mommapbs | 106863
What is this salvation? Note how the Amplified captializes "Salvation!" Did Simeon see salvation as a thing or a Person? Perhaps we need to embrace the Christ Child in the same manner as Simeon - with our eyes not on the creche, but on the cross. Comments? |

173 | What is the "sign to be opposed?" | Luke 2:34 | Mommapbs | 106864
What is the "sign to be opposed?" Is this referencing the response of those as noted in Luke 23:35-59? Does this passage point also to the "sign of Jonah" (Mt 12:38-40) and perhaps refer to the rejection of the Risen Christ by unbelievers today? |

174 | Does Scripture support these? | Luke 9:32 | Mommapbs | 39577
Greetings Judith! Could you please support the following things your wrote with Scripture? 1. Elijah and Moses were born of earthly parents. That is true. But is also true that spirits are crafted by this method. 2. God is an invisible force. And has been among us in many different physical bodies. 3. God stated that the body of his son would never rot. So I gather it must be among us somewhere. 4. Christianity is based on being born, growing old, and dying, with the hope of a new awakening. 175 | What is a Christian? | Luke 9:32 | Mommapbs | 39732
Thank you for information on your family background. Your definition of Christianity and mine are significantly different. You wrote:"Christianity is the union of the old and the new." Perhaps we had better learn what your definition of a Christian is so once again I will ask: 1. What is your definition of a Christian? Mommapbs |

176 | Salvation by Grace or Works? | Luke 9:32 | Mommapbs | 39783
Greetings Forum Participants! Let's come together and present the plan of salvation according to God's Word for those who deny salvation by Grace. In the thread "What is a Christian," a participant has written the following statement: "Anyone who thinks that by claiming the death of Jesus they have found salvation. Better read the bible again. Revelation 21:12,13,14,15, I SAW THE DEAD,GREAT AND SMALL, STANDING BEFORE GOD; AND THE BOOKS WERE OPENED, INCLUDING THE BOOK OF LIFE. AND THE DEAD WERE JUDGED ACCORDING TO THE THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK, EACH ACCORDING TO THE DEEDS HE HAD DONE. SO YOU SEE THERE WILL BE A HEARING, AND WE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR OUR SINS. AT JUDGEMENT DAY, THERE WILL BE NO REPENTANCE. REPENT NOW WHILE THERE IS TIME." Mommapbs |

177 | Jesus is still on trial? | Luke 9:44 | Mommapbs | 119397
Might this verse be a source of accountability for mankind? Also recall Jesus' question: "But who do YOU (emphasis mine) say that I am?" (Luke 9:20) I know that this verse gives the disciples advance warning of the trial and crucifixion of Christ, but might Jesus want us to ponder ("Let these words sink into you ears") this as well: that Jesus is still "on trial" in than hands of men today? What will we do with Him? "Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? (Luke 6:46) |

178 | Why identify the cities and not the man? | Luke 10:30 | Mommapbs | 142084
In the parable of the "Samaritan", why does Jesus specifically name these two cities? It is interesting to note that He does not identify the "man" who was woundered. Comments?
179 | Same supper as John 12? | Luke 10:38 | Mommapbs | 184335
Greetings - I found it interesting that in one account Mary is criticized by her sister and in the other account (John 12) she is criticized by an outsider. Both attempt to "rob" Mary. Are these the same suppers?
