wormwood, Take into consideration the time frame here, then go back through the Gospels and search out Jesus teaching about baptism. The baptism being practiced at this time was Johns baptism. Now go to Pentecost after Jesus had reserected and returned to the Father. Note Acts chapter two and Peter's initial sermon. Here the frame work regarding salvation is laid. Attn to vs38. We now have a new covenant in place. We dont have a contradiction in Luke 23:42 we are just in a different administration. Look at Matt 28:18-20 Jesus tells the apostles that all authority had been given to him. Going back to Lk 23:42, Jesus had the authority to make the promise he did.Just remember that after pentecost we are in a new administration (new covenant). In Christ, lionheart |
