Subject: Saved by belief or belief and baptism? |
Bible Note: rb8, This is a subject that has long been debated by Christians here on the forum and other venues and as such has been misquoted, misstated and in some cases trivialized. We get into these things because we don't let God's Word speak for itself. Sound basic Bible study principals can put allot of these debates to rest. Example- The thief on the cross. It's obvious that he could not be baptized. Here is an example of where time and when are critical in our understanding. The baptism understood at this time was John's baptism. The baptism we have today did not come until Pentecost. This is part of sound basic bible study. (2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21.) Study this subject out in light of Acts 2:38, Romans 6 ect. It all fits together. In Him, lionheart |
