Subject: Saved by belief or belief and baptism? |
Bible Note: Yes that is correct. Passages to consider when noting passages concerning salvation. In order: 1. "Hear"(the word): Rom 10:17 2. "Believe": Mark 16:16; Acts 16:31 3. "Confession": Rom 10:10 4. "Repent": Acts 2:38 Luke 13:3,5 5. "Baptize": Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 1Pet 3:21 Its what is commonly refered to as the "5 Steps to Salvation". But there is actually one step that alot of people forget and that is what is our responsibility as a christian after we do this. I hear the question all the time: "...is that all we have to do?" The answer to that question is "No". Jesus said this in Rev 2:10 "... live faithfully until death, and I will give you the crown of life". So we are told right there that our christian walk doesn't stop after baptism. That is only the start of our new life as a christian, and we are to remain "faithful" for the remainder of our life if we want that "crown of life". I hope this helps, any questions let me know.
