Subject: Saved by belief or belief and baptism? |
Bible Note: You are in desperate need for teaching of scripture. The phrase "baptized into Christ Jesus...baptized into His death" has nothing to do with water baptism. Paul is using the expression baptizo in the same way he employed it in 1 Cor 10:2, where he spoke of the Israelites as having been "baptized into Moses." Baptized into in that sense means "identified with," "linked to." Paul says, "All of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed youself with Christ"(Gal 3:27) He's speaking of union with Christ: "The who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him" (1 Cor 6:17). Coty; in order to apply the bible to your life, you must FIRST correctly interpret the scriptures of that bible. |
