Subject: Saved by belief or belief and baptism? |
Bible Note: In no way am I throwing out baptism, it's very important in our Christian lives. You should of scrolled up and read some of my responses before you jump to conclusions. Let,s take the whole bible, not just a few scriptures. Read Acts 3:19; were is baptism? "What must I do to be saved?" And they (Paul and Silas) said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house" (Acts 16:29-34). And then they were baptized; believe it or not baptism is for believers (Christians). Although they are closely related, salvation comes first. It,s foolish to even think this to be a part of salvation. O.K. let,s take a different approach; if a Christian never took communion would he be in trouble? Christ did say "Do this in rememberance of me" Luke 22:19. The truth is communion, baptism are things that we do out of obedience. Nothing to do with salvation, that is by faith through grace alone. Lion, think about the process of baptism for a moment.......you are the one doing the WORK. "And it's not of yourself: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast" (Eph. 2:8,9). |
