Mark 16:16 doesn't say that you are saved before baptism, does it? It makes sense that belief comes before baptism, but that's not all or Jesus wouldn't have said baptism too. I don't want to be responsible for taking away from the words of Jesus. In Christian love, imuvhim |

you have to take into consideration all the verses that talk about salvation, baptism, and the holy spirit...otherwise people take things out of context and some one ends up beleiving something that is not biblical. Yes we must belive and then be baptised. baptism is just symbolic of what we believe. Just to clarify: this is water baptism we are talking about, not the baptism of the Holy Spirit (which happens at the momemt of conversion...he lives in us to help us live our new life in Christ from the moment we believe. and he is our teacher of the scriptures). |

Does your comment "Just to clarify: this is water baptism we are talking about, not the baptism of the Holy Spirit (which happens at the momemt of conversion" ... mean that none of the disciples had experienced "conversion" until the day of Pentecost? TommyS |
