Hi justme, In my honest opinion, the TNIV is lacking! I would say I'm underwhelmed by it and that it IS problematic from the Gender-Neutrality standpoint alone. I don't think it improves anything in respect to current translations and certainly lowers the standard in comparison to the KJV, NASB, etc. At best I would give it a C minus ( and I'm being generous):-) The cost is 12.99 paperback, and 16.99 hardcover. BdK: Blessings upon you dear friend! I am so glad that I have had some one who has actually had one to read first hand! Di you like to NIV? I for the life of me can not understand why so many "new translations are flooding the market. Nor can I understand why Zondervan would publish such a weak revision. Zondervan told me it has seen slow sales. I think they will see why soon. Here in the Mid-West, or as I think is just as right, the Mid-East the KJV reighns. Most Christian book stores have a wide range of KJV and a fair amount of NIV but NASB is lucky to have ten percent of the shelf space. I am sad at your news, but thank you for you evaluation. Blessings and Peace to you:-) justme |
