Please, please, forgive me if I have deliberately offended any of you. I do not see where I have tried to defame anyone. If I have, I do humbly ask for forgiveness. Cut and paste is my way of saying, please think for yourself. If I want to know what CRI believes, then I know perfectly well how to go there. It's a link on my computer. I've downloaded many things from there. The scripture to which you are refering that I should use, I'm not quite sure I know what your looking for. Do you want me to give Chapter and verse for all the goofy stuff I see in the Catholic church? I wouldn't even know where to begin? It would simply be endless. I think the fact that they use so many idols ("You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. Little children keep yourselves from idols. etc etc.) Praying to, bowing down before etc, breaks the 1st commandment. This was the question at hand. Is the catholic church cultic. Kalos responded with a cut and paste saying NO they are not cultic. Fine I said. It's Heretical. I'm not sure what other scriptures I could present. Of all the practices I mentioned, no one said I was wrong, OR proved to me it was OK to do them. But, just let me mention health or wealth and watch all the panties bunch up. I'm not trying to scripturally prove anything. I'm just saying MY PET PEEVE is the fact that when it comes to health and wealth verse nailing yourself to the cross, penance, the worship of Mary etc, there seems to be no contest. THE MAJORITY OF CHRISTIANS WOULD DEFEND THE CATHOLIC BUT STONE THE WOF. Could someone please tell me why the same rules that condemn WoF do not carry the same condemnation to the Catholic doctrine? At least not from Kalos' cut and paste article. |

In the Andes You asked a legitimate question let me attempt to address it. The question you asked: Could someone please tell me why the same rules that condemn WoF do not carry the same condemnation to the Catholic doctrine? At least not from Kalos' cut and paste article. First the major cult watch organizations have established criteria for what is a cult and what isn’t. Whether that is done rightly or wrongly I will not argue. The Catholic church to yours and many others dismay does not fall within the criteria established for a cult. Again rightly or wrongly I will not argue. On the other hand WoF does fall into that criteria. Therefore by the “experts standard” it is considered a cult. That may be to your dismay, but again I repeat it wasn’t I that did the classifying. I think we all will agree that there are saved and unsaved Catholics and WoF members. The problem at hand for all of us is to reach those that are not saved and show them the way. You then made a statement, “But, just let me mention health or wealth and watch all the panties bunch up.” I think your problem can best be summed up by comparing your responses defending WoF and Emmaus’ responses defending Catholicism. To the best of my knowledge Emmaus has never offended or belittled anyone to make a point. In every discussion I can think of Emmaus has conducted himself as I would expect Christian would. In other words his fruit spoke highly of him. It may be your have so endeared yourself to all of us that when you say anything we get our “panties bunched up” EdB |
