1 | Who, besides the elect of God,are saved? | Rom 10:9 | John Reformed | 74825
Dear Ed, Do you think that fallen man has a spark of good in him,and if he can just be made to see the truth, that spark will set a blaze of faith in his heart? The reason I ask is because you always appeal to a situation where a man wants to be saved but cannot if he is not elect. You then use this scenario to refute election. But the sad truth is that all men do know the truth but "suppress it in unrighteousness". They want no part of it. That is why I believe they must be born again in order to desire Christ and His truth concerning the gospel. Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 2 | What do "any" and "all" really mean? | Rom 10:9 | Hank | 74842
John Reformed and Reformer Joe: In 2 Peter 3:9b appears this phrase, "not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentence." Of whom is the Apostle speaking when he uses the words "any" and "all"? Does he really mean "any" and "all" or is he saying one thing and meaning something else? --Hank
