1 | One sided culture war. | Luke 17:3 | Pete2 | 120818
The bible is only useful if it fits into the world. If this is true, how can you study it without its application? The Koran is the Moslem bible. It also says that it is ok to kill non moslems with immunity. There is little condemnation for murder in the Koran. It is also full of sexual content. Do you doubt that if a person does a terrorist attack that they think that they will have a bunch of virgins waiting for them in Heaven? I guess I have been frustrated about the one sided culture war that has been going on. |

2 | One sided culture war. | Luke 17:3 | EdB | 120904
Pete2 While I have no interest in defending Islam in all fairness I think you taken things out of context or perhaps others have and your merely repeating them. First Islam holds to the Pentateuch however they do believe it was corrupted in that Isaac’s and Ishmael’s name were transposed by the Jews. In other words they view Ishmael the child of promise not Isaac. That said they do have a prohibition against murder however in Jihad (holy war/ fight against other religions) like our war killing is acceptable. In the case of Islam even rewarded. Yes the Koran does infer that all non Islamic people either need to be converted to serving Allah or suffer death. But there is no blanket charge to go kill everyone. Koran is viewable on the internet just do a search for Koran in any search engine and read for yourself it is not filled with sex innuendo, the teaching you refer where anyone killed in Jihad is rewarded with virgins is from oral tradition and is not written as such in the Koran. To understand Islam you have to understand their view of God, Allah to them is vindictive and possesses little or no mercy. Their life is weighed in a scale, if their good deeds out weigh their bad/evil then they go to heaven where they are rewarded with all the material pleasures of life. If the bad/evil deeds are heavier they are tortured for eternity. Death in a Jihad immediately tips the scales to their favor and assures them entrance into heaven. They have no concept of God as a loving father but rather view him as one standing ready to punish them should they step out of line. This breeds cruelty in its very nature and Islam is very harsh religion. But perverted sexual acts are not condoned however in some sects they are overlooked. Treatment of woman is equally harsh viewing women from an Old Testament view. An offspring is of this is the view that women are considered inferior to man. However again this position is not supported in either the Old Testament or the Koran. Again Islam is aberrant and something the world needs to deal with but in all fairness let us know the truth about it. Not painting all Muslims as child molesting, wife killing perverts. EdB |

3 | They lack Apathy | Luke 17:3 | Pete2 | 120911
You spoke very well. Better than I ever could. It is my belief that a strong civilization is sewn together by its commone thread, morality. Morality is an agreement on behavior. Moslem nations do not thrive and never will, they can't. Their morality does not work... Never has.... Never will. The only hope for that part of the world is apathy. Maybe we should ship them some of ours.

DO NOT BASH ANY GROUP | ||||||
5 | Why? | Luke 17:3 | Pete2 | 120924
It is wrong? It is immoral? It is unetical? You sound very aggressive, so I know you do not have a problem with that.
6 | Why? | Luke 17:3 | EdB | 120930
Pete2 Before we get a rhubarb going here let me step in. Searcher56 is right we are not here on this forum to bash other groups. The purpose of the forum is to study the Bible. At times this requires us to look at other groups or even respond to their attempts to deceive others. however we try to do it in fairness and with accuracy. Your post on Islam displays either a lack of knowledge about the religion or such a prejudice against them you would post half truths or lies to make them look bad. It serves very little purpose for Children of Light to use the methods of darkness to make their points. In truth the realities of Islam are actually worst then many of your supposed problems. If you going to commit on a something do it with reason, do it with understanding and do as Christ would leaving the truth expose the darkness. Now before you and Searcher56 get at each others throats let us all remember this forum is a Christian forum and such should reflect Christ to the world. EdB |

7 | Why? | Luke 17:3 | Pete2 | 120939
I am not being unfair. In the city where I live, there are moslem groups. They have spokesman. They were silent after 9-11. Why? They could have said, "We condemn their actions". They didn't. That is a fact. More facts? I do not know of a Moslem group or even a single individual speak out against what was done. Even Louis Fericon (sp) doesn't. I am sorry I am saying negative things. Most of you folks are pleasantly positive. I appreciate you wanting to stay with scripture. But that is impossible without application. In this country, we have made it possible for people to co-exist. Although, the government will give a stage for anti-christian and not christian. It has moved that far. I have been trying to understand the apathy and I think I do now. On the Moslem faith, I did not say anything that was far off the mark. I am not going out on the web to back any of it. That is past my mission. Also, the truth is learned by starting with less perhaps. I never silence people when they try. I have |

8 | Why? | Luke 17:3 | Bruce7 | 120945
I heard and have spoken with Muslims who did not condone the actions of 9:11. There is more information coming out, that the politcal leaders, associates, might have involvment. Genesis communication Network has been reporting on this matter. gcn.net May God give the discernment to His saints that is needed. 2Tim3:16 Heb12:14 Jam1:5 1Cor 2:6-8
9 | Why? | Luke 17:3 | Pete2 | 120953
I will have to look back. I dont think I said condone. What I did not hear was "condemn" that action... And trust me, I would not have said it either. Many of them are "nuts". They recognize that also, that is why they did not condemn. I could respect their religion if they would make positive public statments, but I do not hear them on radio, even though I have listened to them for hours. I have also listened to their oposition. I know a minister/priest that was fired from a college for quoting directly out of the koran. They felt it was devisive. |
