1 | short and long version of Mark 16:8 | Mark 16:9 | Ray | 125463
Hi Tim, You and EdB have been talking about God's Word being called God's Word, and wondering which manuscript is God's Word. Perhaps we can say that the Perfect has not [yet] come. In both John 7:8 and Mark 16:5 we should be looking to see (Jesus). And I would say that we should be looking for (Spirit), because (God) is Spirit. We might talk about John 6:4 and John 6:10 and try to decide who this one [One] is who may or may not want to be known publicly at this time. Is there a difference between "He Himself "[NASB] and "He also" [NKJ] for John 6:10? From the heart, Ray |

2 | short and long version of Mark 16:8 | Mark 16:9 | EdB | 125582
Ray The two verses you quoted John 6:4 and John 6:10 John 6:4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near. John 6:10 Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. I don't see where your question, " We might talk about John 6:4 and John 6:10 and try to decide who this one [One] is who may or may not want to be known publicly at this time. Is there a difference between "He Himself "[NASB] and "He also" [NKJ] for John 6:10?" fits. I don't see a He himself and He also in either verse. Are you possibly talking about John 6:4 and John 6:6? In that case I think the verse should read, But this He (Jesus) said to test him (Phillip), for He (Jesus) Himself (Jesus) knew what He (Jesus) would do. That kind of blows your three occurances per verse theory. I guess the last He could be Phillip since Jesus also knew what Phillip was going to do. EdB |

Hi EdB, I gave you the wrong references for consideration. I meant to say John 7:4 and 7:10. John 7:4, "For no (o)One does anything in secret, when (h)He (h)Himself seeks to be known publicly. If You [sic] do these things, show Yourself [sic] to the world." John 7:10, "But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as it were, insecret." Sorry about the confusion and typo. By the way, I do not have a "three occurances per verse theory". However, in John 7:4 we can infer a triune (p)Person. The NASB reads, "For no one does anything in secret, when he himself seeks to be known publicly." Also, if we leave off the "Himself" of John 7:10 we have three pronouns of Deity for verses 9 and 10. "And having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee. 10 But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, the He also went up, not publicly, but as it were, in secret." From the heart, Ray |
