I'm not saying that all saints that got sick and died were not in faith. What I am saying is that we can be sick or we can be well. What gets me is that people are saying that Jesus took a beating and shed His Blood for nothing. He died on the cross for us and our salvation but He also shed His innocent blood for us and our healing. God knew this was going to happen but He made provision for sickness and infirmities by the shed blood of HIs Son Jesus. Now, if you or anyone else don't want to believe that you can be made well by that blood then that is your right. But if a new Christian comes on this forum and asks if itt is alright for us to be healed and someone says that went out with the death of the disciples then sir, that is wrong. I believe that Jesus shed His Blood for MY healing. You don't want it? Don't ask for it. God said, "Let us make man in our image." Do you see God in sickness? Do you see Him in a wheelchair? Do you see Him dying by inches with a debilitating disease? Read some of the writings of E.G. Lake; Smith Wigglesworth; Kenneth Hagin; Kenneth Copeland; Dr. Thomas E. Slayton and his wife Gail. If they could believe for healings then I can believe for healings. God said, He is no respector of persons. If they received it, if they lay hands on people and they get healed in the Name of Jesus, then I have that right and privilege also. If you don't want it, don't believe it. How many scripture verses do you need to make you believe that God wants us healed? Ten? Twenty? a hundred? Do a Bible search of the scriptures based on healings, I did. I found 22 pages of scriptures telling me that God wants me well and prosperous. I don't have to have a house fall on me to know that it is dangerous to be under one without a foundation. |

PastorFloyd it is good to see that someone else is reading What God is telling His people instead of concentrating on just words. God has given us a picture of people's walk with Him in Exodus. He led the children of Israel through the wilderness by a pillar of fire by night and one of smoke by day. I am sure that as God had them stay in one place for a time and then the pillar started to move that some of them decided to stay where they were because they were familiar with the terrain. Imagine them watching as God moved away from them. How good they felt in the comfort zone. Until they realized that they had let themselves be removed from the presence of God. I know this is just a thought something contrary to some on the forum, but sometimes I just wonder. Anyway God led them around the desert until all those who had unbelief had died. Them He led the remainder into the Promised Land (I wonder what that represents). They crossed the Jordan river and the pillars ceased. Now they had to walk by faith and not by sight. They believed Numbers 23:19 as we do. They had chosen life not death. Pastor, remember Romans 3:3-4 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? [4] God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. [KJV] I believe if God said it, it is so. We should take the Bible at face value. All that God has done is for now not when we get to heaven. Power in the Holy Ghost is for now. The gifts of the Spirit are for now. The fruit of the Spirit is for us now. Abundant life is for us now. I wonder what abundant life means. It must mean I must suffer abundantly. Yeah that is what my Father who gives better gifts than us wants for our lives. To think that all this started with someone wanting to know what being overcome by the power of God meant. John 18:4-7 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? [5] They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. [6] As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. [7] Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. [KJV] Rev. 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [KJV] Fell back and down by the power of Jesus words. Fell down AS DEAD. Hmmph I wonder if that is the same as . . . no it couldn't be. Pastor Floyd take heart there are those who believe all things are possible to those who believe God. A great many of us. Jeff: I am delighted in the scriptures that you have found. It may lay to rest this controversay that is going on. God has given us a great many blessings. My family have all benefited from the scriptures on healings. I especially like the ones in Psalms 37:4-5 and Isaiah 65:16. I did a word study on the word blessings. Know what it said? "Abundance in every aspect of your life." Again, thank you for your insight. I expect to hear from you again. I shall invoke a blessing on you, your family and your ministry as it says in Isaiah 65:16. I'm still chuckling over those scriptures. Yours in Christ Floyd |
