Hello Gracefull, You mentioned that some of the points I brought up could hinder a person receiving a healing. I find it difficult to beleive that a healing can be hindered by asking God that he may be glorifed in whatever his plan of healing is for you. In my post I did say that this way of thinking is not the only way in which God will move. Sure, I beleive that God is compelled to move by compassion. And if a person feels that they have enough faith for God to give them a mirircle, well thats good also. But my point was not to imply a false humility, but rather that Christ purpose was to testify of the one who sent him. For example: Lazarus was dead for four days. He had no consciousness. Joh 11:14 Then Jesus said to them plainly, Lazarus is dead. Joh 11:15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, in order that you may believe. But let us go to him. Jesus was "glad" that he wasnt there to heal Lazarus, for the greater good of causing others to beleive. Also these text Joh 11:39 Jesus said, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of him who died, said to Him, Lord, by this time he stinks. For it is the fourth day. Joh 11:40 Jesus answered her, Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God? Jesus was telling her not to doubt or greive the spirit. I also think that its important to note that it was Lazarus sister that he asked to beleive, and not someone else. I agree that Christ was moved by compassion for this miricle. It says that Joh 11:35 Jesus wept. But why was his prayer answered? Joh 11:41 Then they took away the stone where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. Joh 11:42 And I know that You hear Me always, but because of the people who stand by I said it, so that they may believe that You have sent Me. Christ prayer was to heal Lazarus that others may believe on the one who sent him. Not because Lazarus life was so valuable, or unfinished. Or because his family wanted him back. But strictly to cause others to beleive. One more example of a persons faith and Gods purpose is Mat 9:2 And behold, they brought to Him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Child, be of good cheer. Your sins are forgiven you. Jesus wasnt moved by the paralytics faith. And so why was the paralytic healed? Well lets see Mat 9:6 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins, then He said to the paralytic, Arise, take up your bed and go to your house. So in reply to your statement that my note was speaking of a false humility. I apologize, this was not my intent. The intent was to bring up the "idea" that maybe God has a caertain plan, or timing for our healings and miricles. And maybe if we prayed the way that Christ did our prayers would get answered. Christ prayed that the Father would be reveiled through him, that was his testemony. Our testemony is that Christ may be reveiled in us. And I think its important to note that Christ did this through his healings, miricles, life and death. MaTT |

Matt, You said.. "You mentioned that some of the points I brought up could hinder a person receiving a healing. I find it difficult to beleive that a healing can be hindered by asking God that he may be glorifed in whatever his plan of healing is for you." Absolutely not, but if we believe God is glorified somhow by our sickness, we do not and will not believe for a healing. According to your faith be it unto you. Matthew 9:28-29 28 When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, "It shall be done to you according to your faith." . It says that Joh 11:35 Jesus wept. I believe He was weeping for the living. "Christ prayer was to heal Lazarus that others may believe on the one who sent him." You are correct in part I believe. Jesus was praying out loud that the croud could hear Him speaking to the Father and would know that when the miracle took place, they would know God and Jesus were in communion. Note verse 42 I am not clear on your point, so if you would clarify it so I can address it, but this is too general. I know God heals because He loves us and for His glory. The same Spirit in Christ is in us...The same Spirit that worked through Jesus...Matthew 12:28 is in us... I believe healing is provided through Jesus's stripes, and is received by faith. God bless |
