1 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | Searcher56 | 153992
But did the babies accept the gift of God? I am done discussing this with you. You agree that we are born sinners, yet the babies as sinners, go to heaven ... sinners are not allowed in by God. |

2 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | mark d seyler | 154005
Searcher, We all sin, but we do not all go into the lake of fire. When Jesus died, He took upon himself the imputation of our sin; He took credit for our sin, and bore the punishment. Only those with imputed sin will go into the lake of fire. Imputation of sin is only given according to the breaking of God's law. Babies, though born with original sin, have not yet received God's law. It is when they understand God's law, and choose to break it, that sin is imputed. I have covered these scriptures in my posts. I would also ask that if you wish to represent my responses in your post, please be careful to present my words as I wrote them. Our God is just and merciful, and has made the way not only for the ones who are mature, aware, and intelligent, but also for the young, handicapped, and for whatever reason, unable to understand as we do. Where much is given, much is required. Where little is given, little is required. To those who have lost a young child, who had not matured enough yet to understand the gospel, take heart - God loves them so much more than you do. Mat 19:13 Then little children were brought to Him, that He might lay hands on them and might pray. But the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, Allow the little children and do not prevent them to come to Me, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven. Love in Christ, Mark |

3 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | seedling | 154007
Mark I am glad you included this statement... Our God is just and merciful, and has made the way not only for the ones who are mature, aware, and intelligent, but also for the young, handicapped, and for whatever reason, unable to understand as we do. I worked with physically and mentally disabled people. I witness to them also and most of the time feel that they are closer to God than I ever would be. Do you know of any scriptures that would support this? Thanks Seedling |

4 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | mark d seyler | 154017
Hi Seedling, I think of the people who seem unable to understand as one of either two groups. The first group includes the young (babies, small children) and the completely mentally disabled, who are simply not able to comprehend the ideas of the Law, and the Gospel. To these I apply Paul's discussion of the relationship of the giving of the Law to imputation of sin, in Romans 5. Basically, where there is no law given, there is no imputation of sin. The second group is those who are mentally disabled, who seem unable to grasp these things, but we really don't know. To them I apply Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;" We never really know what God is doing spiritually inside someone. I think that the person who is less connected to this world may be more able to be connected to God. Our natural abilities don't correlate to our spiritual abilities. Of the children, and those who are in their minds still children: Mat 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Love in Christ, Mark |
