Bible Note: 2 Samuel 12:23 says "But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me." No where does it say "David clearly expected to SEE his son again." It shows that death is final and I believe David was buried in place as his son and joined him in death. If their spirits all went to the same place, why didn't David mention it elsewhere? 1 Kings 14:31 says And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David ... also read other accounts (1 Kin 15:24, 22:50; 2 Kin 8:24, 13:13, 14:16, 15:7, 15:38, 16:20, 2 Chr 21:1, 26:23). There was a common palce to bury the kings (2 Chr 28:27). I think Jacob was buried with his sons (Gen 50:1-14) ... notice verse 13 ansd study who else was buried there, and Joesph's request in verses 24-25. Numbers 14 may be universally applied. |
