First, I would like to thank you for being here, it shows a godly curiosity and means to me that I have done something correctly. I do not mean that I am correct, but I believe that all things are profitable, be we right or be we wrong. It is a good way to learn, from our own mistakes as well as those of others.
I was raised in a Catholic home, but became rebellious due to misunderstanding and disagreement with the teachings of the Church when I was a young altar boy, and the mass was still done in Latin. This is because what I was taught did not make sense to me. I was about 8 yrs old, and I could not reason through the rituals, and a lay teacher told me that the Bible was only a story, so I began to doubt.
After 35 years of apostasy and worldly living I found that my way does not work so I decided to try to find God's way. I was immersion baptised in 2000, in a rededication of my life for Christ.
I still have problems with wilfull sin and questions pertaining to forgiveness due to a past life that haunts me to this day.
I try to surround myself with the Word and develop myself in a relationship with my Savior, yet I do understand that this is not something that I could ever hope to be successful at without Him.
I go to a non-denominational church regularly, offering as much my time as well as income that I hope to spare, and have formed strong friendships among Pastors and Members, Deacons, and Elders. Yet I consistently struggle.
So I want to thank all the visitors to this forum for making this a place where a guy like me can find some valuable answers and grow closer in my relationship with the church, and my Lord.
May God Bless You and Yours,
Me.
