3 | What is the apostacy? | 2 Thess 2:3 | Renovate Me | 121491
Hi Rowdy, I believe that apostasy is just as prevalent today, for who has been a Christian for any length of time, and does not know of a person claiming to be reborn, then turning back to the old way of life? The verse you refer to, seems to me, a prophecy through Paul concerning the apostasy of the latter times, which he had spoken of in 2Thes 2 as being expected to take place. a good example of the apostasy is turning away from the teachings of the Christian Church and giving consideration to teachings and temptations of demons, or the worship of saints and angels. This was in harmony with the early church of Rome, as it enshrined of the relics of martyrs, paying homage to them, building altars and burning incense as they recited prayers and praises to the honor of saints that have departed. This is paganism revived, the image of the first beast, in Rev 4:7, “The first living creature was like a lion” The Lion of course, being the symbol of authority (The King of the jungle) God Bless, me |

5 | ?'parent moderation, children excess'? | 2 Cor 12:14 | Renovate Me | 121396
Hi Charlesandde, I believe this is an old proverb, however I do not believe it is scriptural. In the King James Version, at least, the two words 'parents and children' do not appear together in the same verse until the New Testament. The maxim does seem to contain a great deal of truth, doesn't it? Bless you, me |

6 | who can explain to me? | John 1:1 | Renovate Me | 120284
Hi Rowdy, Yes you say correctly, for no one does have all the answers, and I would steer away from anyone who feels they do. I just caught your post about the concept of the Trinity, and I thought I'd share something I heard the other day. We all are aware that God is Love, right? well that proves existance of the Trinity I am told, because love cannot exist without an object, right? So, there is the spirit of love, the one that loves, and the one that is loved. hence three in one. Also, man was created in God's image, right? That is to say that man is three in one as well. We are comprised of body, soul, and spirit. But you are right. We will not know completely until that which is perfect comes to us. Only then will we know as we are now known. Until then, we can only peer through a soiled window, and catch glimpses of what will be (see the second half of the "Love Chapter" 1Cor 13) In His awesome Love, me |

10 | Was the holy spirit in Adam? | John 20:22 | Renovate Me | 116845
Biffbt, In Jn 20:22, above, I personally, take that to mean a "symbolic conveyance" of the Power of the Holy Spirit unto the apostles. There were other instances of the apostles being "filled with the Spirit," (Acts 2:4) an act that is repeated elsewhere, so this means that this filling is not a permanent infusion. As for breathing life into Adam, We must consider the wording of the text. Whereas other creatures were 'Formed' Adam was 'Created', still, out of the clay of the earth. The spirit of man, however did not come from the earth, but from heaven above, from the One who created Adam in His Image. This is not saying that the Holy Spirit was breathed into Adam's nostrils, but the spirit of Adam, the soul of man. In His service, Me |

11 | a certain church we have to join | John 14:6 | Renovate Me | 116237
nae-nae 04, There is only one religion, (teaches the Bible that we all know and love) of which there are hundreds of denominations. The religion is Christianity, which by definition is made up of followers of Christ, or Christ's men. This is the only religion where the leader volunteers His life for the sins of His followers, so they may be saved from eternal damnation. One of my favorite passages is, 2Corinthians 5:20-21 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Does that answer your question? God Bless you, Me |

13 | Why God's RIGHT Hand ? | Col 3:1 | Renovate Me | 116062
Hi Ken John, Very interesting question. I believe the answer, or one of them as the case may be, can be found in the verse listed above, (Psa 110)which says, ". . . sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool." What is this indicating? It may indicate that there is going to be a promotion. To me, this is God the Father saying to His begotten Son, that He will be "at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool." Where is it that Jesus is able to go after He completes His work at the right hand position? How can he get any higher than He already is? The first answer to come to mind is that Jesus will be elevated to the very throne itself. At the right hand, Jesus is in a position as a crowned prince until his enemies are made his footstool. This, to me, is the prince of this world (everyone's enemy) being brought low, Put into his place where he belongs. Remember how it says, UNTIL I make thine enemies thy footstool. This is because it is not done yet. Jesus is still in the mediatorial role. As far as the Right hand, verses the Left, I think that is the position of authority, meaning the person on the right side of a king's throne would have more authority than the one on the left. But I will need to look into that a little deeper to know for sure. Thank you for your question, Me |

17 | How many, where are Beatitudes? | Matt 5:3 | Renovate Me | 115708
Thank you Tim, What I was referring to was a statement that a respected minister made while I had my head under the hood of his car today. (I was ministering to an oil leak.) I am aware that there are Beatitudes found in Luke, but I was told that there are also (The complete number of)7 Beatitudes in the Book of Revelation. has anyone heard of this? Tim, your other comment also interests me. you say Ten? In Matthew I count 8, (verses 3 thru 10) and then in 5:11 there is an application of the former verse, thought to be spoken to the disciples, because of the change in the pronoun used. What do you think? |
