Subject: Do babies go to heaven or hell? |
Bible Note: Hi Seedling, I think of the people who seem unable to understand as one of either two groups. The first group includes the young (babies, small children) and the completely mentally disabled, who are simply not able to comprehend the ideas of the Law, and the Gospel. To these I apply Paul's discussion of the relationship of the giving of the Law to imputation of sin, in Romans 5. Basically, where there is no law given, there is no imputation of sin. The second group is those who are mentally disabled, who seem unable to grasp these things, but we really don't know. To them I apply Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;" We never really know what God is doing spiritually inside someone. I think that the person who is less connected to this world may be more able to be connected to God. Our natural abilities don't correlate to our spiritual abilities. Of the children, and those who are in their minds still children: Mat 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
