Subject: Do babies go to heaven or hell? |
Bible Note: Searcher, I thought you were done discussing this with me :-) To impute is "to charge to the account of", to "give credit for". As the redeemed, our sin is imputed to Christ, God counts our sin as having been committed by Jesus. We receive Jesus' imputed righteousness. God credits us for the perfect life that Jesus lived, as if we had lived it. Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Adam started it, and we all continue ourselves to sin. Even babies are self-centered, and will steal, and defy authority. Sin kills. Even babies may die. Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Before the Law was given through Moses, mankind sinned, and died, but that sin was not counted against the sinner, because God has decreed that He will not count that sin against those to whom He had not specified obedience to a certain command. Sin is not imputed when there is no law. Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Even though the only law that God had given was to not eat of the tree in the center of the garden, and no one but Adam and Eve had eaten of that tree, still people died, because sin kills. But that sin was not counted against them, because in is not imputed when there is not law. I don't know what I can add to this. If you want more information, you might try the link Kalos posted.
