I once beleived that we could loose our salvation. Out of curosity I simply asked God to show me the truth. He did and now there is now doubt His work of salvation is forever. Too often we forget God also answers our questions, "Knock and the door will be opened". | ||||||

Once saved always saved is not true. We loose our salvation when we walk away from it and go back into the world. When one leaves the body of Christ, salvation does not go with you...you basically layed it down at the foot of Jesus. Oh yes, make no mistake, it is always there, ready, waiting, and available once you come back. But when you walk away and go back into the world, it is not longer yours until you go back and pick it back up again. Until then, if you die in your sins after having left the body of Christ and never returned in repentance, you are and will be lost. |

You assert that "once saved always saved is not true." You then go on to say, "Oh yes, make no mistake, it is always there, ready, waiting, and available once you come back. But when you walk away and go back into the world, it is not longer yours until you go back and pick it back up again." Yet you offer not one verse of Scripture to back up your assertions. Anyone can assert anything, but that alone doesn't make it true. Where is your Scriptural support? Using the concordance feature at (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/) I made an interesting discovery. This is what I found when I looked for the words lose and salvation in the same verse; and also when I looked for the words lost and salvation in the same verse. King James Version "Your search query for 'lose salvation' did not return any results. Please modify your search query and try again." "Your search query for 'lost salvation' did not return any results. Please modify your search query and try again." Please note: the information above is NOT MY OPINION of anything. These are objective, verifiable FACTS. There is no place in the King James Bible in which the words lose and salvation or lost and salvation occur in the same verse. It just isn't there. |

That was silly...you did a search and lose and salvation or lost and salvation weren't there??? There are probably a million other words that are not in there but what exactly does that mean? The bible cannot contain it all. With the indwelling Holy Spirit/Ghost, we shouldn't need everything literally spelled out for us. Do you want to do a REAL search? There are three different books that speak to this. No it doesn't have those two words side by side, but I do believe those in Christ are to have the spirit of discernment, wisdom, get divine revelation, and have something called plain 'ole common sense. The passages of scripture are as follows: 1. Jesus says a man having put his hand to the plough and looking back is NOT fit for the kingdom of God. If one is not fit just for "looking" back, how about all out walking away? 2. It is better to have never known Him than to know him and then turn away. That your end after knowing him, will be worse than your beginning when you DIDN'T know Him. And such a person is likened to a dog that returns to it's own vomit. 3. Or the one where it says many will say to Him, "Lord Lord," and He will say to them, "depart from me." They had prophesied in His name and cast out devils while on earth. How could they do that and still not make it in? Because they were ONCE saved is why. They were ONCE saved, but upon coming before the Lord on that day, they were told to "depart." They lost it somewhere along the line and never repented and picked "it" back up again. So what you're telling me is that a person who knew Christ as Savior and Lord, who then, for whatever reason, walked away, went back out in the world, began living a life of sin, never came to repentance and dies in that state is going to make it into the Kingdom? I don't believe that and will never repeat such a thing. I'll not have someone else's lost soul charged to my hands. |

Glorialynn I like the first two verses but I think the last one is talking about TV evangelist. Men and women that heal and cast demons not by the power of Jesus Christ but by trickery and deception and the power of suggestion to make a buck. I think if they ever knew Jesus Christ they would be too scared to carry on the way they do. No I'm not saying deliverance or healing doesn't exist today. I just don't think it is done that by those that worship mammon more than God. EdB |

Hi Ed, I understand what you are saying and yes I've been taught that those were preachers He was talking to at that time. But I am also reminded of the scripture in Luke 11 where it talks about Satan not dividing against himself. Meaning, you cannot thoroughly cast out a devil BY a devil...it can be only be done through the Holy Spirit/Ghost. So if any preacher at one time thoroughly casted out devils, it was through the power of the Holy Spirit/Ghost and not trickery. All in all, what I'm saying is that they were saved at one time. I believe those told to "depart" were really true men/women of God at one time, saved men/women of God, but something happened along the line and they never got it right before they died. |

Glorialynn The authority is in the name. I think there are many that use the name of Jesus Christ but have never known him. Just as Jesus said in this passage "I never knew you." In fact Mormons heal and cast out demons in the name of Jesus Christ and the Jesus they name is a created being and the brother of Satan rather than the eternal Son of God. So with those two thoughts I do believe you can cast out demons and never have been saved. EdB |

Ed, The key word I used was "thoroughly." They may come out, but where will they go? That's the difference. No Ed...it takes more than the name. Remember the men who thought they could cast out demons as they saw Jesus do? What happened to them? See Acts 19 Are you saying that a satanist can cast a demon out of a man by calling on a name he despises? Or just any 'ole Joe with no "covering" and no annointing can cast out a demon? No Ed, that is not true. |

GloriaLynn I'm saying Satan is a counterfeiter and a deceiver and he will and can do anything that takes people further away from the real Jesus. Classic example is the Mormon church the authentic Jesus is nowhere to be found in the that church yet they cast out demons and heal. I’m not saying any “Joe” can cast out demons but I’m saying any “joe” can probably cure a false manifestation of demon possession. Before anyone puts words in my mouth I am not saying all demon possessions are false! Let’s look at the words of the verse again. Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' [23] "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' Notice the words Jesus replied “I NEVER knew you” Never says they never were one of Jesus’ flock so yes the answer to your question is those whose father is Satan can cast out demons. EdB |
