1 | Who, besides the elect of God,are saved? | Rom 10:9 | John Reformed | 74894 | ||
Dear Ed, Just because I have learned much as a result of the teaching of the reformers does not mean that I subscibe to man-made docrines. One of the first rules I learned from them was sola scriptura. I believe that no theology give more glory to Jesus Christ than reformed theology. Soli Deo Gloria is also a reformed doctrine. The fact that you disagree does not in itself disprove anything. Scripture Ed, give me Scripture. John |

John Sola scriptura is nothing more than lip service. When the scriptures says something someone doesn't like they say: 1. You are not interpreting it right. 2. That pertained to that place and time it isn’t speaking of today. 3. That’s under the Law we have been set free. 4. That’s the law are you saying Jesus did away with the law. 5. That was given to correct a particular problem in that church it was never meant to be universal. 6. Or (the one I like the best) Paul was saying this was his opinion not God’s command. So John please don’t say you stand on sola scriptura unless you want me to show you where you don’t. John if I give scripture you change the content to reflect what you want it to say. Or you accuse me of proof texting taking it out of context. John face the facts you don’t want to hear what I’m saying anymore than I want to hear what your saying. That has been the nature of this conflict since Calvin cooked it up. EdB |
