1 | Why did God tell Abraham to kill his son | Gen 22:2 | Vintage68 | 214921
Hi Wildoliveshoot The answer that was given was in relation to a question that was being asked, with the knowledge of SIN as we have it today, ie after the Mosaic Law. The question also said kill which was actually sacrifice. But this should answer your question. From Adam to Moses, there was no law. Rom. 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Vintage68 |

2 | Why did God tell Abraham to kill his son | Gen 22:2 | bibleman12 | 215015
Hi Vintage68, I understand there was no law from Adam to Moses as for as the "law of Moses," but there was a law concerning taking the life of others. Genesis 9:5 Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man's brother I will require the life of man. 6 "Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man. So based on Genesis 9:6 if Abraham had offered Issac as a burnt offering thus killing him - would not others be required to take the life of Abraham for killing his son? |
