AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 3:2 Beloved, we are [even here and] now children of God, and it is not yet made clear what we will be [after His coming]. We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [in all His glory]. |

Bible Note: Greetings Bill! Since you only accept the words of Jesus, let me answer your question by quoting Him. John 5:24 - "24 ‘‘I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. 25 I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. 28 ‘‘Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned." Matthew 10:28 - "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." God in His grace offers life to all, but love does not mean a lack of justice or of judgment. We should love our enemies, but those who reject Christ will one day receive the righteous judgment they deserve for their rejection of Him. Those who were killed, by the command of God, in the O.T. were killed as an act of Divine justice. God did not grant the Israelites the right to decide for themselves who would live and who would die. He gave them very specific directions. This line of questioning is an example of why there is a problem with trying to pit one part of Scripture against another. There is no contradiction between one part of Scripture and another part, all of Scripture is God's Word. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
