Subject: Kill your brother and drink strong drink |
Bible Note: Keliy, You said, "...but God's Word is unchanging and can be discerned..." This is what troubles me, my pastor tells me the same thing, but when I asked him about discerning God's word regarding tithe money to buy strong drink (Deut 14:26) and killing your brother if he should want to lead you away from God (Deut 13:10), he contradicts God and violates Deut 12:32, "Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it." He tells me not to drink strong drink, much less use my tithe money to buy any and by no means should I even consider killing anyone who might want to talk me out of loving God. I do agree with you that 2 Tim 3:16-17 is a valuable passage, and this is why I am troubled, how am I to follow God's words without changing some of them like my pastor teaches? Pete |
