Bible Note: taleb: I read your profile, so what I may say may be reduntant, and if so please excuse me. Almost all translations for the last fifty years have been based on Functional Equlivant better known as FE. There is where many versions have things that differ from one version to another. A tranparent translation like the KJV or NASB takes longer to work through the words but is worth the gold dug out. The FE versions attempt to put the words into the cluture of the day. Perhaps the best FE is the NIV or NLT, the most the FE versions attempts to bring it closer to the attended readers culture, the chances are the version will have changed so many meanings it well may block the Holy Spirits intended meaning. I hope this is not just old stuff for you. justme |
