AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 3:28 There is [now no distinction in regard to salvation] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you [who believe] are all one in Christ Jesus [no one can claim a spiritual superiority]. [Rom 3:22; 1 Cor 12:13] |
Subject: God can use woman in the ministry? |
Bible Note: Hello gruvebana, 1 Corinthians 11:5 This verse indirectly addresses this question. Paul himself is saying here that indeed women were permitted to prophesy, teach, etc as long as she has a covering. The covering being the approval of her husband or pastor. Women are not to usurp their authority. Since this sounds like a contradiction to Timothy's statement in 1 Timothy 2:12, one must ask for wisdom to explain the difference. But clearly based on 1 Corinthians 11:5 women were allowed to participate in public worship and ministry. 1 Corinthians 11:5 And any woman who [publicly] prays or prophesies (teaches, refutes, reproves, admonishes, or comforts) when she is bareheaded dishonors her head (her husband); it is the same as [if her head were] shaved. If you go to word search and type in this topic you will probably find more discussion than you care to read. Hope this helps, God bless |
