Bible Note: Greetings Oldtimer! Whoops! I missed something in your post. Almost all of the pronouns referring to the Holy Spirit are neuter simply because the word 'spirit' is neuter. In Greek, a pronoun must agree with its antecedent in person, gender, and number. However, as I noted, there are cases where this rule is broken and a masculine pronoun is used in reference to the Holy Spirit.
