Subject: Are you a true believer? |
Bible Note: Exactly, The question was incomplete. The question is usually incomplete when we sin also: "I have sinned, so did I just loose my salvation?" The first question should be: 1. Was I saved to begin with? 2. If yes, then was I walking in the spirit or in the flesh? 3. If I was walking in the flesh, then I am carnal. So how do I get a closer walk with the Lord? Have I been filled with the Spirit? We must be willing to do whatever it takes to get free from the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life: Matthew 5 Adultery in the Heart 27 "You have heard that it was said to those of old,[3] "You shall not commit adultery.'[4] 28But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. Matthew 18:8"If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. 9And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire. |
