Bible Question (short): Question of one word in Romans 8:38-39 |
Question (full): I have a question on one word in Romans 8:38-39. That word is "love". Recently, I have heard many people speak about this verse as saying that nothing can separate the true believer from his/her relationship with God. However, the verse does not say that nothing will be able to separate us from God; it says nothing can separate us from the LOVE of God. God loved us before we accepted him as our savior. Otherwise, he would not have died for us. I believe that God still loves those who never come to know him, but this love alone does not save them. Similarly, nothing can separate the believer from the love of God, but does this really mean that nothing can separate them from God? I may be wrong, but these are just my thoughts on this verse. What do you think? |
