AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 5:24 ¶ "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the person who hears My word [the one who heeds My message], and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has (possesses now) eternal life [that is, eternal life actually begins--the believer is transformed], and does not come into judgment and condemnation, but has passed [over] from death into life. |
Subject: Saved vs. Works (John 5:24 and 5:28-29) |
Bible Note: Dabody7, I accept your invitaton to be blunt, though I wish not to be unkind. Bluntly, then, I observe and point out that in your faith plus works equals salvation dissertation, you did not provide a single Bible passage to support your claim. You say that Abraham was saved by works. He was not. Read Paul's argument in Romans 4 to learn how Abraham was really saved. Please answer my questions at the end of my former post, especially the one having to do with Ephesians 2:8,9, which I quote for your ready reference: "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as the result of works, so that no one may boast." Now I shall be looking forward to seeing how you fit that into your faith- plus-works-equals-salvation formula. --Hank |
