Bible Question (short): Is not Jesus the Almighty? |
Question (full): Is not Jesus the Almighty? Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. This verse is Jesus speaking and he says he is the Almighty. Tara, if you want to speak of Jesus prior to the cross, I agree with you. Jesus was not born God. Mary is not the mother of God and can not give birth to God. Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Jesus Christ exhalted, after the cross, is God. God gave Jesus his name, Jehovah, notice this verse in Philippians 2.9, its starts with Wherefore, meaning because of the prior verse. He already had the name Jesus from birth, he was given the name above every name Jehovah because of Phl 2.8 Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Praise the Lord! Norm |
