Subject: Who is Jesus' God? |
Bible Note: How do you diminish the statement of Thomas and the fact that Jesus didn’t chastise Thomas for calling him God? John 20:26-29 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Thomas said, My Lord and my God. I think where you are having a problem is that a man can’t become God, and I agree; but it was no problem for God to become a man! Jesus Christ is the most unique individual in all of existence. He is different then God because he is a man, he is different then man because he is God, he is the God man. In order for one to be a mediator he must be a part of both groups and only Jesus fits this requirement. 1 Tim. 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Whose blood is mentioned in the following? Acts 20:28 (B) to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. God had to become a man to do this! Have a great day, CDBJ |
