Subject: once saved always saved |
Bible Note: Hi Ed, We have not talked in awhile. "I would like to add one thing by asking a question. Can any Christian say they faced less opposition from Satan once they became saved? If we can't lose our salvation then why is Satan trying so hard to get us to sin? Surely it isn't because Satan doesn't know whether we can lose our salvation or not. I think he knows very well and tries everything he can to have us doubt our salvation experience and eventually reject God." There is another school of though here which I find equally compelling. Satan fights us no harder after salvation as before. But rather believers are finally aware of Him and His tactics and are resisting him. This makes us very concious of his efforts. Speaking from personal experience he was very active in his lying deceptions when I was lost and equally lying afterward. Until I began to understand that I had to 'believe God' (through His Word) and 'resist the devil' he had just as strong a negative influence on my life as before. I gave it to him in ignorance of the Word. And secondly, he has a very good reason to oppose believers. That would be to prevent our testimony and to rob us of the victory..be that joy, peace, health, boldness to speak, confidence in prayer...whatever, in an attempt to prevent others from coming to the knowledge of the truth. John 10 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. The Good Shepherd cares for the sheep as they 'go in and out and find pasture'. Just a point to ponder. God bless God bless |
