Bible Note: Greetings Candy Lee! Numb. 14:34 says that the Israelites will be punished one year for each day that they wandered in the desert. How does this establish a rule of prophecy that a day in prophecy equals one year? This seems like an example of eisgesis - reading into Scripture what we want it to say. Rev. 11:3 talks about 1,260 days, but right before that (in v. 2) it refers to 42 months. 42 months is 1,260 days. 42 months is also 3 1/2 years. There is the one week of seven years yet unfilled from Daniel. So, it makes much more sense exegetically that the 1,260 days is exactly that - 1,260 days. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
