Bible Note: I have spent more that two hours looking over this site and I added it to my favorite list. I have some questions for you now. I hope you will be able to answer them for me. I searched the ten commandments 1858- gravity of sin. States that there are different degrees of sin, some are worse that others. Do you have or know any scripture for this? I thought that the bible taught that sin is sin and the wages of sin is death. I haven't read anything about any one sin being worse than another. 2067- commandments, 1st 3 are love of God, 7 are love of neighbor. The bible account of the commandments are the 1st 4 are our duty to God and the remaining 6 are our duty to our fellow man. I couldn't access a copy of the commandments on this site,so I could'nt compare them. 2068-the law is obligatory and are still bound to keep them. Then here again is the sabbath question.2083-Make no images...you shall not bow down to them or serve them, yet I know that catholics do this. I have seen on TV people bow to the Pope and kiss his hand. This purgatory stuff really has me confused. 1031-final purication of the elect. 1475- faithful are already in heaven or purgatory or on the earth. Then explain Ecc 9:5-6 1498-indulgences. through these you can obtain remission of temporal punishment or for those in purgatory. Where do they get this idea from? Is is in the bible and if so can you tell me where I can find it? Baby baptism1252- a catholic tradition . Not bible doctrine. Pope 100- interpreting the word authentically entrusted to him. 869- the church is indestructable, infallibly in the truth,Christ governs her through Peter and other apostles who are present in their successors the Pope. This goes back to Ecc 9:5-6. The dead are dead. Peter was crusified by Rome. How did he give the Pope power if he was dead. 882- Pope has universal power over the whole church which he can exercise unhindered. 881- Peter named the rock of his church. Christ is the rock. Look up Peter it means pebble. 937 Pope enjoys by divine institution supreme, full immediate and universal power in care of souls. Christ alone is in charge of my soul. I choose who to serve. I choose Christ alone and the bible alone as a guide to life. 1462-forgiveness of sin. Pope has the power and ministry of reconciliation he is the modertor of the penitential discipline. All through the bible we read the Christ is our mediator our High Preist. It seems that the Pope claims Christ role as savior and makes his sacrifice void. Can you explain this? I'll continue to read up on Catholic beliefs, but I'm really finding more that proves the teachings of the catholic church are not grounded in bible doctrine but traditions of men. What I want is something that will disprove what I have said about the Pope being the antichrist. Remember if they speak not according to the word it is because there is no light in them. I want to take your side on this but the evidence is against the church. I must stand on what I know. I will continue the search. Please don't think I mean you any disrespect. You are not the Pope. I have never met you, yet in Christ I do love you. Your Sister In Christ, Candy Lee |
