AMPLIFIED 2015 | Proverbs 1:7 ¶ The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline. Bible Question: How do we gain wisdom in our lives? |
Bible Answer: James 1:5-8 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Proverbs is a good source, too. There are 31 chapters, so read one chapter every day of the month. It will amaze you how pertinent it will be to your life. (Note, you can also read through all of the gospels in a month by reading three chapters a day.) |
