AMPLIFIED 2015 | Proverbs 1:7 ¶ The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline. [Ps 111:10] |
Bible Question: Do you think knowledge and wisdom are essentially the same, or is there a difference? (compare Prov 1:7 and 9:10) |
Bible Answer: Straightforwardly put, knowledge is the psychological retention of information while wisdom is the moral and ethical impetus to put that information to practical and beneficial use. I'm not sure that provides a simple answer to your question, but you may find comfort in the semantics. |
